A special loan scheme for public servants to purchase 1088 housing units will be given. Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J Seneviratne hoped to discuss with the President and the Treasury to arrange for a special loan scheme for public servants to buy houses at Galle-Wekunagoda and Habaraduwa ‘Nilasevana’ housing projects which are constructed to provide ownership of a house for government servants.
The Minister addressed the media after inspecting the progress of these two housing projects consisting of 1,088 housing units constructed under the supervision of Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry.
Application are to be issued for the Habaraduwa housing scheme which has being completed.
While 384 M category units consisting of 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and living and dinning areas is priced at Rs 3.55 million.
The Minister paying attention to several shortcomings in Habaraduwa project advised the construction firm to meet with the common amenities by reserving a place for a shopping complex, children’s park and a playground.
Pensioners are also eligible to apply for these houses the Minister pointed out. twenty percent of houses of these two projects are opened for the private sector employees too.
