Yes. There is a safety issue. Recently, the Malaysian government took a decision to remove all fixed objects upto 3.5m in both sides of National roads. Most of the fatal accidents are due to hit on these fix objects. You can see here that more damage to the light post and less damage to the car. If it happened in Sri lanka.?
