How to use Social Media
Posted by Michele Boccamazzo on January 18, 2011
There is a popular American saying that says “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Well, now-a-days this saying is ready for the history books, because it’s no longer true. It should be “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays…on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, etc”, because everything you do today can be instantly shared with the rest of the world, through social media. That’s the beauty of this medium of course, we can share all kinds of information with just a click of a mouse, but it can also be our own pitfall. Its therefore important to use social media correctly, in order to protect your personal and professional reputation online.
As we’ve said many times before…in most of the cases all of the content about you, which is available online, is there because of you. You shared it, you tagged it and you liked it. This is exactly why a lot of big companies today set up guidelines for their employees, about the correct use of social media. A good example is TNT. We found this interesting document online and if you ask me, its very well done and gives good guidelines for everyone.
