නරකය

නරකය කියල කියන්නේ අපි සාමාණ්‍ය ව්‍යවහාරයේ නරකාදිය කියල කියන එකටයි. නරකාදි කියන සිංහල වචනය නරකය+ආදි යන්නේ අපර අක්ෂර ලොප් වි හැදුන වදනක්. මෙයින් හැගවෙන්නේ නරකය ආදි අනිත් අපාය ලොක කියන එකයි. මෙ නරකයත් කොටස් වලින් යුක්තයි, මුලින්ම

01)සඤ්ජිවය
යමපල්ලන් විසින් එහි උපන් සත්ත්වයින් ගිනියමි වු පොළවෙහි පෙරලා කැලි කැලි කොට කපද්දිත් ඒ සත්ත්වයින් නැවත නැවත ජිවත් වන බැවින් මෙ නරකය සඤ්ජිව නමි වෙ. අධික ක්‍රෝධයෙන් හා මානයෙන් අන්අය හා කලකෝලහල කල අයද, දුබලයන් පෙළු රජවරැ නිලධාරි හා අමාත්‍යයෝද, දිලින්දන් පෙළු පොසතුන්ද, මැරයෝද, සතුන් මරන්නෝද මෙ නරකයේ උපදියි.

02)කාලසුත්‍රය
උපන් සත්ත්වයින් ගිනියමි වු යපොලවෙහි පෙරලා දැලි නුල් ගසා සසින්නාවු (කියතින් ඉරන්නාවු) නරකය මෙයයි. මාපියන්ට හා මිතුරන්ටද, ගුණවත් මහණ බමුණු ආදින්ටත් අපරාධ කල අය මෙ නරකයේ පැසෙයි.

03)සන්ඝාතය
මෙම නරකයේ සත්ත්වයෝ යොදුන් නවයක් ඝන ලොහමය පොළවෙ එරි නිස්චලව සිටිති. එහි භයානක හඩක් නංවමින් එහි එරි සිටින සත්ත්වයින් අඹරමින් පර්වතයෝ ඒ මෙ අත පෙරි යති. ඒවාට යටවි සත්ත්වයෝ තැලි පොඩිවි ඇඹරි යති. ඇත් අස්, ගව ආදි සත්ත්වයිට වද දෙමින් වැඩ ගත් පුද්ගලයින් හා සතුන් මැරැ පුද්ගලයන්ද මෙම අපායේ උපදිති.

04)රෞරවය
මෙ නරකයේ සත්ත්වයින්ගේ ශරිරය තුලින් ගමන් ගෙන ඇතුලත හා පිටත දවන්නාවු භයානක දුමකින් යුක්තය. මෙලෙස මුලු සිරැරම දැවි යාම නිසා විලාප දෙමින් හඩන අපාගත සත්ත්වයින්ගේ හඩ නිරන්තරයෙන් ඇසෙන බැවින් මෙම නරකය, රෞරවය නමි වෙ.

05)මහා රෞරවය
අතිශය දරැණු හා භයංකාර වු ගින්නෙන් හා දුමෙන් නිරන්තරයෙන් මෙම නරකය පිරි ඇත. මෙම නරකයේ සත්ත්වයින් විදිනු ලබන ඉසිලිය නොහැකි දුක නිසා නිරන්තරයෙන් විලාප දෙමින් හඩන හඩ ඇසෙන බැවින්ද, නිරිසතුන්ගේ ශරිරයෙන් ගලායන ලෙයින් පිරි ඇති බැවින්ද, මෙය මහා රෞරවය නමි වෙ. තුරැණුවන්ට අයත්වුත් දෙමාපියන්ට අයත් වුත් වස්තුව පැහැර ගත් අයද විනාශ කල අයද, මෙම නරකයේ උපදියි.

06)තාපනය
මෙම නරකයේ ගිනියමි වු ලොහමය පොළවෙ, ගිනියමි වු ලොහ උල් වලින් අමුනා තබන ලද සත්ත්වයෝ ගින්නෙන් දැවෙමින් සිටිනු ලබයි. සතුන් පණපිටින් පුලුස්සා මැරැ පුද්ගලයොත් අනුන්ගේ නිවෙස් වලට ගිනි තැබු පුද්ගලයොත් මෙම නරකයේ උපත ලබයි.

07)මහා තාපනය (ප්‍රතාප නරකය)
තාපන නරකයේ මෙන්ම මෙහිද ගිනියමි වු ලොහ උල් වලින් අමුනා තබන ලද සත්ත්වයෝ ගින්නෙන් දැවෙමින් සිටිනු ලබයි. මරනෙන් මතු ඉපදිමක් නැතැයි යන මිත්‍යා දෘශ්ඨිය ගෙන පවි කල පුද්ගලයෝ මෙම නරකයේ දැවෙයි.

08)අවිචිය (අවිචි මහා නරකය යනු මෙයයි)
මෙම නරකයේ එක් බිත්තියකින් නැගෙන ගින්න අනිත් බිත්තිය දක්වා ගමන් කරයි. පොලවින් නැගෙන ගින්න උඩ පියන්පත දක්වා නැගෙයි. උඩ පියනින් නික්මෙන ගිනි ජාලාව පොළව දක්වා ගමන් කරයි. දිශා 06න් නිරන්තරයෙන් නැගෙන ගින්නෙන් සත්ත්වයින් මෙම නරකයේ නිරන්තරයෙන් පිලිස්සෙන්නේය. මෙම නරකයේ අනන්ත වු සත්ත්ව සංඛයාවක්ද වෙසෙයි එබැවින් එය අවිචි මහ නරකය නමින් හැදින්වෙ.

මෙ ආකාරයට මහා නරකයන් 08 ක් ඇත. මෙ මහා නරක පොළොව ඇතුලෙහි එකිනෙකට යටින් පිහිටා ඇත. එවා හැඩයෙන් හතරැස් ‍ය. ඒවායේ බිම සහ බිත්ති සැදී ඇත්තේ ලොහයෙන්ය. උඩින්ද ලෝහයෙන්ම වැසි තිබෙ. එක් එක් නරකයක දිශා 04 හි දොරටු 04 බැගින් ඇත. මෙ නරකයක ඇතුලත ප්‍රමාණය දක්වා ඇත්තේ එක් එක් දිශාවකට යොදුන් 100 බැගින් යනුවෙනි. මෙ නරකයන් ඇතුලත ගිනිදැල් වලින් පිරි ඇති බවත් දක්වා ඇත.

මෙ එක් මහා නරකයක පිටිපැත්තේ එක් එක් දිශාවට වන්නට කුඩා නරක 04 බැගින් පිහිටා ඇති බව දක්වා ඇත. මෙ කුඩා නරක හදුන්වනුයේ "ඔසුපත් නරක" යනුවෙනි. ඒ අනුව එක් මහා නරකයක් වටා "ඔසුපත් නරක" 16 ක් ඇත. ඒ අනුව මහා නරක අටෙහිම ඔසුපත් නරක 128 ක් ඇත.

මෙම නරකයන්හි සත්ත්වයින්ගේ ශරිර ස්වභාවය කෙසේද?
මොවනට මනුශ්‍යයින්ට මෙන් දෙපා ඇත. ඔවුන්ගේ ශරිර ප්‍රමාණයෙන් ඉතාමත් විශාල බව දක්වා ඇත. ඒ අනුව ඇතැමි සත්ත්වයින්ගේ ශරිරගවිවික් පමණද, ඇතමෙක්ගේ ශරිර ගවි දෙකක් පමණද, ඇතමෙක්ගේ ගවි තුනක් පමණද, ඇතමෙක්ගේ යොදුනක් පමණද වන බවද දක්වා ඇත. අවිචි නරකයේ දුක් විදින්නාවු දේවදත්තගේ ශරිරය යොදුන් සියයක් විශාල ශරිරයක් බව දක්වා ඇත. මොවුන්ගේ ශරිර මනුශ්‍ය ශරිර මෙන් තද බවින් යුක්ත නැත. මහනෙල් මල් පෙත්තකින් ගැසුවද කැඩි යන තරමෙ පෙනපිඩු මෙන් දුර්වල බව දක්වා ඇත. මෙලෙස විශාල ශරිර ඇත්තේ ඔවුන් විදිය යුතු දුක වැඩි විය යුතු නිසා යැයි සිතිය හැක.

නරකයන් ගේ දුක්ඛය ගැන බුදුරජානන්වහන්සේ වදාලේ මොනවාද?
දුක් ඇති තැන් වලින් ඉතා දරැණුම දුක් ඇත්තේ නරකයේය. මෙ නරකයන් වල විවිධාකාර දුක්ඛයන් ඇත, ඉන් විශේෂිත නරක වල දෙනු ලබන දුක්ඛයන් ඉහතින් දක්වා ඇත, මිට අමතරව 128 ක් වු ඔසුපත් නරකයන්හි පහත දුක් ඇත.

ගිල්ලවිම, පෙරලන පර්වත වලට යටකර අඹරනු ලැබිම, ශරිරය තුලට ගමන් කරණු ලබන දුමි වලින් ශරිරය පිලිස්සනු ලැබිම, ලොහ තුඩු ඇති පක්ෂින් විසින් කොටා ශරිරයේ මස් කඩාගෙන කනු ලැබිම, ගවයින් මෙන් කරත්තවල බැද බර ඇද්දවිම, දැලිපිහි මෙන් කැපෙන තණකොල හා කඩු මෙන් කැපෙන කොළ ඇති ගස් ඇති ප්‍රදේශවල දිවවිම, මෙලෙස කැපි මස් කැබැල්ලක් මෙන් වු ශරිර ලුණු ගංගා වලට ඇද දැමිම ආදියයි. බුදු රජානන් වහන්සේ මෙසේ වු නරකයේ දුක්ඛය දැක්විමට උපමාවක්ද නොමැති බව දක්වා ඇත. එවිට භික්ෂුන්වහන්සේ නමක් නරකයේ දුක උපමාවකින් වදාලන මෙන් ඉල්ලාසිටි විට, තතථාගතයන් වහන්සේ පහත උපමා දක්වා ඇත.

"මහණෙනි, රාජපුරැෂයෝ සොරෙකු අල්ලා රජු ඉදිරියට ගෙන ගොස් දෙවයන්වහන්ස!මොහු සොරෙකි මොහුට සුදුසු දඩුවමක් නියමකරණ මැනවයි කියයි. එවිට රජු මෙම සොරා ගෙනගොස් උදැසන මොහුගේ ශරිරය සිදුරැවන පරිදි යහුල් පහර 100 ක් අනින මෙන් නියම කරයි. ඉන්පසු දහවල් කාලයේ රජු සොරා පිළිබදව විමසා සොරා ජිවත්ව සිටින බව දැන දහවල් කාලයේත් යහුල් පහර 100 ක් ඇනිමට නියම කරයි. ඉන්පසුව නැවතත් සවස්කාලයේ සොරා පිළිබදව රජු නැවතත් විමසා ඔහු ජිවත්ව සිටින බව දැන නැවතත් සවස් කාලයේ යහුල් පහර 100 ක් අනින ලෙස රාජ පුරැෂයන්ට නියම කරයි.

ඉන්පසු තථාගතයන්වහන්සේ, "මහණෙනි මෙලෙස ඒ පුරැෂයා යහුල් පහර 300 ක් කැමෙන් දුකට දොමිනසට පත්වුයේද යැයි අසන ලදි" ඒකල්හි භික්ෂුහු ස්වාමිනි! එක යහුල් පහරක්ම මහත් දුකක් දොමිනසක් වන විට යහුල් පහර 300 පිළිබදව කුමක් කියන්න දැයි අසන ලදි.

ඉන්පසු තථාගතයන් වහන්සේ කුඩා ගල්කැටයක් අතට ගෙන, "මහණෙනි! මා විසින් මෙ අතට ගන්නා ලද ගල් කැටයෙන් හා හිමාල පර්වතය යන දෙකින් විශාල වන්නේ කුමක්දැයි අසන ලදි. එවිට භික්ෂුන් ස්වාමිණි! ඔබ වහන්සේ විසින් ශ්‍රි හස්තයට ගන්නා ලද ගල්කැටය හිමාලයෙන් 1000 සින් පංගුවකුත් නොවන්නේය, දසදහසින් පංගුවකුත් නොවන්නේය, ලක්ෂයකින් පංගුවකුත් නොවන්නේය. එයහිමාලය හා සංසන්දනය කල යුත්තක් නොවන බව සැල කර සිටින ලදි.

එවිට තථාගතයානන් වහන්සේ මහණෙණි එසේම යහුල් පහර 300 ලද මිනිසා විදින ලද දුක නරකයේ දුකෙන් දහසින් පංගුවක් හෝ දසදහසින් පංගුවක්හෝ ලක්ෂයෙන් පංග්වක් හෝ නොවන බවත් අපායේ දුක්ඛය හා සමකල යුතු දෙයකුදු නොවන බවත් දක්වන ලදි.

මෙයින්ම අපට අපායේ දුක්ඛත්වය පිලිබදව අවබෝධයක් ලබාගත හැකි වනු ඇත.

The morning coffee is a ritual beloved by hundreds of millions of people around the world.
Now a team of inventors has promised to improve this daily pleasure with metal beans that can keep your drink warm for up to five hours.
The beans, called Coffee Joulies, cool down your beverage to a drinkable temperature three times faster than normal, and then maintain that temperature.

They work by absorbing extra thermal energy in the drink when it's too hot, and then releasing that stored energy back into the drink to keep it at an optimum temperature as it begins to cool down.

While this might seem to go against the laws of thermodynamics, Coffee Joulies contain a 'special non-toxic material' sealed within the beans' stainless steel shells.

A spokesman said: 'This material is designed to melt at 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and absorbs a lot of energy as it melts. This is how Joulies cool your coffee down three times faster than normal.

'Once it reaches this temperature, the special material begins to solidify again, releasing the energy it stored when it melted. This is how Joulies keep your coffee warm twice as long.'
Using Coffee Joulies couldn't be simpler; all you have to do is add a few to your drink as soon as it's poured.

And you don't have to be a coffee lover to get the most out of the beans - they work in any hot drink, be it tea, hot chocolate or milk.

Unfortunately, the beans - which are due to shortly go on sale in the U.S. with a retail price of $50 for a bag - only work at their best when the cup is insulated with a lid.
Place them in a standard kitchen mug and Coffee Joulies will keep your drink in the optimum temperature range for only a few minutes longer than usual.
In a thermos flask, however, then the beans should keep your coffee at the perfect temperature for up to five hours.
But don't forget to make more coffee than usual - the beans take up 15 per cent of the volume of your mug or flask.

அல்லாவின் முன்னால் மனிதன்நிற்பது உண்மையா?

உலகம் அழியப்போகிறது இறுதிதீர்ப்பு நாளில் ஆண்டவராகிய ஏசுகிறிஸ்துவின் முன்னாலோ அல்லாவின் முன்னாலோ நாம் நிறுத்தப்படப் போகிறோம் என முஸ்லிம்களும் கிறிஸ்த்தவர்களும் மாறிமாறி பேசிவருகிறார்கள். இது உண்மையா? இதைப்பற்றி இந்து மதம் என்ன சொல்கிறது என பலர் கேட்கிறார்கள் குர்-ஆனில் நயமான ஒரு விஷயம் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. ஐந்து கடமைகளை நிறைவேற்றி அல்லாவினுடைய எண்ணப்படி வாழ்ந்து மரித்து போன ஒரு முஸ்லிம்முக்கு மண்ணறையாகிய கல்லறை விரிந்து இடம் கொடுக்கும். குளிர்ந்த காற்று வீசும் நல்ல வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கும். ஒரு புது மாப்பிள்ளை பள்ளியறை கட்டிலில் எப்படி சந்தோஷமாக உறங்குவானோ அதே போன்றே கல்லறைக்குள் உறங்குவான்.

அல்லாவின் விருப்பத்திற்கு விரோதமாக நடப்பவனின் கல்லறை அவனை இறுக்கும். வெப்பம் சுட்டெரிக்கும் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. ஏறக்குறைய பைபிளும் இதே போன்று தான் பேசுகிறது. கல்லறையில் இருக்கும் உயிர்கள் உலக அழிவிற்கு பிறகு இறுதி தீர்ப்பு நாளில் கடவுள் முன்னால் கொண்டுவரப்படும். உயிர்களின் நல்லது கெட்டதிற்கிணங்க சொர்க்கமோ, நரகமோ கொடுக்கப்படும் என்று சொல்கிறார்கள். கடவுளே இல்லையென சொல்லுகின்ற நாத்திகவாதிகள் சொர்க்கம், நரகம் என்பதை ஏற்று கொள்ளுவது இல்லை. எரிகின்ற தீபம் அனைந்து விட்டால் எப்படி எல்லாம் முடிந்து விடுகிறதோ அதே போலவே மரணத்தோடு மனித வாழ்க்கை முடிந்து விடுகிறது என்கிறார்கள்.

இறுதி தீர்ப்பு என்பதையும் மரணத்தோடு எல்லாம் முடிகிறது என்பதையும் இந்து மதம் ஏற்று கொள்வதில்லை. ஒரு உயிரானது படிப்படியாக கீழ் நிலையிலிருந்து மேல் நிலைக்கு போகிறது. அப்படி போகும் பாதையில் அது கணக்கற்ற ஜனன மரணங்களை சந்திக்கிறது. அதாவது நாம் புதிதாக பிறப்பதும் இல்லை. முதன் முறையாக சாவதும் இல்லை. இதற்கு முன்னால் எத்தனையோ முறை பிறந்தும் இருக்கிறோம். இறந்தும் இருக்கிறோம். கடவுளை உணரும் வரை பிறப்பு இறப்பு சூழலில் சிக்கி தான் தீர வேண்டும். மற்ற மதங்கள் மனிதனை மனிதனாக மட்டும் தான் பார்க்கின்றன. இந்து மதம் மனிதனை வெறும் மனிதனாக கருதுவதில்லை. ஆண்டவனின் ஒரு அம்சமாக, ஆண்டவனின் சொரூபமாகவே பார்க்கிறது.

இதற்கு மேல் சிந்திக்க மாட்டேன் என்ற நிலை வரும் போது நாத்திக கொள்கை கூட அறிவு பூர்வமானது தான். ஆனால் இந்த விஷயத்தில் இஸ்லாம் கிறிஸ்தவ சமய கொள்கைகள் அறிவு பூர்வமானது என்று சொல்லி விட முடியாது. அல்லாவை ஏற்றவனுக்கு கல்லறை சுகமானது. ஏற்காதவனுக்கு துக்கமானது என்றால் பிறந்து மூன்று வருடத்தில் அல்லாவையோ ஏசுவையோ ஏன் சிவபெருமானையே கூட யார் என்று தெரியாமல் தான் எதற்காக பிறந்தோம் என்று உணராமரல் செத்து போகும் குழந்தை இறுதி தீர்ப்பு நாள் வரை கல்லறைக்குள் எப்படியிருக்கும்? சுகமாகவா? சோகமாகவா? என்ற கேள்விகளுக்கெல்லாம் அந்த மதங்களில் எந்த பதிலும் இல்லை. அதனால் தான் இந்து மதம் இறுதி தீர்ப்பு நாள் என்று எதையும் சொல்லவில்லை என மறுப்பு சொல்லி மறுபிறப்பு கொள்கையை நம் முன்னால் வைக்கிறது. மறுபிறப்பை நிறுபிக்க வலுவான ஆதாரங்கள் இல்லையே தவிர புணர் ஜென்மம் என்பதை அனுபவபூர்வமாக நம்ப கூடியதாக இருக்கிறது. மறு பிறப்பிற்க்கு எப்படி ஆதாரம் இல்லையோ அதே போல இறுதி தீர்ப்பு நாளை நம்புவதற்கு எந்த அறிவியல் ஆதாரமும் இல்லை.

The White House announced late last night that al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had been killed in a nighttime raid in Pakistan, sparking street celebrations in New York and Washington. Far from hidin...g in a dusty cave, bin Laden was holed up in a three-story fortress Abbottabad, a town about 35 miles north of Islamabad, a well-to-do area that is home to many retired Pakistani military officials. After quickly turning the terror figurehead's body into fish food by dumping him at sea, administration officials have just said that DNA tests prove that the man killed is in fact bin Laden.

Now the U.S. will have to pick a way in which to release photos of bin Laden's body. But will that stop conspiracy theorists? Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a member of the Armed Services Committee, said it "didn't make a lot of sense" to bury him at sea so quickly. The U.S. defended the decision as being a burial in accordance with Islamic law and not creating any sort of burial place that could serve as a shrine to the man who ordered the deadliest terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.

The last bin Laden message came on Jan. 21 (Al-Jazeera has a complete timeline), but for years al-Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri has been a more public face of the terror organization in its videos. Not only could the killing of bin Laden make al-Qaeda and its affiliates more determined to retaliate against the U.S. and her allies, but other Islamist terror organizations will be anxious to step up to the plate.
On June 7, 1999 Osama bin Laden became one of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted. Today, his picture sports a red banner reading "Deceased."However, it didn't take long for conspiracy theories to spin up over the exact identity of the man killed in Abbottabad on Sunday. So how exactly was bin Laden's death confirmed? Various news agencies are reporting that the CIA's own facial recognition technology identified the face of Osama bin Laden with 95% accuracy. Facial recognition works by mapping points on a face and creating a biometric template. The template is, essentially, a digital code that describes the subject's face. The trick with facial recogntion has always been that images taken from even slightly different angles will result in a variation of the the biometric template. So a 95% match is about as good as it gets.

In addition to the facial recognition technology, authorities have apparently compared bin Laden's DNA to that of several of his relatives. The exact identity and number of the relatives used for the DNA samples has not been revealed. No surprise there. It's not unthinkable that the government has also been able to collect samples of bin Laden's own DNA from locations where he has lived over the years. ஆனால் இந்த கஷ்டம் யாருக்கு தெரிய போகிறது, போன வாரம் ஒரு கல்யாணத்துக்கு போயிருந்தேன், பெண்ணுடைய பெரியப்பாவோ, சித்தப்பாவோ தெரியல வாய் நிறைய பல்லாக சிரித்தார் விழுந்து விழுந்து உபசரித்தார் வருவோர் போவோரிடமெல்லாம் இவர் அந்த கம்பெனியில் பெரிய மேனஜர் இவர் வைத்துதான் அங்கு சட்டம் என்று பெருமையாக சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். எனக்கு அழுவதா? சிரிப்பதா? என்று தெரியவில்லை பேரு பெத்த பேரு தாய்க்கு நீலு லேது என்ற தெலுங்கு பழமொழிதான் நினைவுக்கு வந்தது என் அலுவலக பியூன் ஒரு நாள் நம்ம மேனேஜர் இருக்கதே அது வெறும் சொரண கெட்ட ஜென்மம் எதையும் ஒரு தடவை சொன்னா புரிஞ்சிக்கவே புரிஞ்சிக்காது இதுக்கெல்லாம் எவன் தான் மேனேஜர் போஸ்ட் போட்டானோ அவனை உதைக்கனும் என்று வசைமாரி பொழிந்து பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்ததையும் ஏனய்யா இந்த மேனேஜர் சுத்த வெளக்கெண்ணையா இருப்பானா தலபாடா அடிச்சிகிட்டாலும் ஆமை மாதிரியே நகர்ரான் யாரையும் வேலை வாங்கவே தெரியாதவானா இருக்கிறான். இவன்கிட்ட மாட்டிகிட்டு நமக்கு தான் தலைவலியா இருக்கு என்று ஜி.எம் விமர்சித்ததையும் வெளியில் சொல்லவா முடியும் ?

கர்பவதியாக இருப்பவள் கூட பத்து மாதத்தில் பிள்ளையை பெற்று சுமையை குறைத்து விடுவாள். ஆனால் எனது மேனேஜர் என்ற சுமை 58 வயது வரையில் குறையவே குறையாதா ? யாரை பார்த்தாலும் இன்னிக்கு மச்சினிச்சியை பெண் பார்க்க வர்றாங்க சீக்கிரமா போகனும் என்றால் உடனே மேனேஜரை பார் என்பது தான் பேச்சு. இன்னிக்கு ஓவர்டைம் செய்ய முடியாது என்று டைபிஸ்ட் சொன்னால் அதை என் என்னிடம் ஏன் சொல்கிறாய் மேனேஜரிடம் சொல்லு, என்னால் இந்த பில்லை பாஸ் பண்ண முடியாது வேண்டுமானால் மேனேஜரை சொல்ல சொல்லு, எனக்கு இன்கிரிமெண்ட் குறைவாக வந்திருக்கிறது என்றால் உடனே மேனேஜரை பார் இப்படி எதற்கெடுத்தாலும் என் தலையை உருட்டுவது முடியவே முடியாதா ?

தோட்டத்தில் குரங்கு தொல்லை அதிமாகி போய்விட்டது என்றால் இரண்டு, மூன்று இளநீர் வெட்டி அதில் ஏதாவது ஒன்றிற்குள் செத்து போன தண்ணிர் பாம்பை போட்டு வைத்து விடுவார்களாம், இளம் தேங்காய்க்கு ஆசைப்பட்ட குரங்கு அவரசமாக துவாரத்தில் கையைவிட்டு இன்னதென்று தெரியாமல் பாம்பை வெளியில் எடுக்குமாம் அது செத்து போன பாம்பு ஒன்றும் செய்யாது என்ற ஞானம் குரங்கிற்கு இருந்தால் அது எப்போதோ மனிதனுக்கு புத்தி சொல்ல ஆரமித்து இருக்குமே பாவம் கையில் இருக்கும் பாம்பை பார்த்து பயந்து அதை கீழே போடவும் தெரியாமல் மரத்திற்கு மரம் தாவுமாம். அதை பார்த்து பயப்படும் மற்ற குரங்குகள் தோட்டத்திற்கு பக்கமே சில காலம் வராதாம், ஏறக்குறைய நானும் அப்படி தான் மேனேஜர் என்ற பதவியை கீழே போடவும் தெம்பில்லை. தக்க வைத்து கொள்ளவும் தகுதியில்லை, இரண்டும் கெட்டான் பிழைப்பு பிழைக்க வேண்டியிருக்கிறது எல்லாம் தலையெழுத்து.

இப்படி நான் குழப்பி கொண்டு திரியும் போது தான் சந்திரன் ஒரு உண்மையான விஷயத்தை தோலுரித்து காட்டினான். இதேபார் நாகராஜ என்னை கேட்டால் உன் எம்.டி.க்கும் ஜி.எம் க்கும் சுத்தமாக அறிவு இல்லை என்றே சொல்லுவேன். உனக்கு மேனேஜர் பதவி கொடுத்ததில் இரண்டு வேலைகாரர்களை அவர்கள் இழந்து விட்டார்கள் என்றான். எனக்கு ஒன்றுமே புரியவில்லை. நான் ஒருவன் போஸ்டிங் வந்ததற்கு எப்படி இரண்டு வேலை கெடும் ? ஒன்றுமே புரியாமல் அவனிடம் புரியும்படியாக சொல் என்றேன். இதோ பார் நீ ஹெட்கிளார்க்காக இருந்த போது அருமையாக வேலை செய்தாய். உன் மேஜையில் எந்த பைலையுமே தூங்கவிட்டது இல்லை. உன் சுறுசுறுப்பை பார்த்து தான் தடாலடியாக நிர்வாகம் உன்னை மேனேஜராக்கியது. இதனால் ஒரு நல்ல ஹெட்கிளார்க் இல்லாமல் போனார் உனக்கு வேலை செய்யதான் தெரியுமே தவிர வேலைவாங்க தெரியாது. இதனால் நிர்வாகத்திற்கு நல்ல மேனேஜரும் இல்லை இதனால்தான் உன் நிர்வாகத்திற்கு முளை இல்லாயென்றேன் என்று விளக்கினான். அவன் சொல்வது மிக சரியாகத்தான் பட்டது. ஹெட் கிளார்க் பதவியை விட்டுவிட்டு என்று மேனேஜர் ஆனேனோ அன்றே என் நிம்மதி போச்சு, சந்தோஷம் போச்சு, உறக்கம் கூட ரொம்ப தொலைவிற்கு எட்டி போச்சு.

சந்திரன் இது மட்டும் சொல்லவில்லை. மற்றவனின் முகசுழிப்பை சகித்து கொண்டு வேலை வாங்குவது கஷ்டம் தான், யாரோ செய்யாத வேலைக்கு நிர்வாகத்திடம் நாம் பேச்சு வாங்குவதும் சிரமாமான காரியம்தான், பெண்டாட்டி பிள்ளைகளை மறந்து சதா நேரமும் வேலை வேலையென மாரடிப்பது கடினம் தான். அவன் சொல்லுவதும் சரி தானே! உன் அடிமை புத்தி உனக்கு சந்தோஷம் என்றால் வேலையை விட்டுவிடு பணிவானவனை மாற்றலாம் அடிமையை மாற்றுவது கடினம். ஆளுமை திறன் என்பது கர்வமல்ல ஒரு வித இன்பம். அந்த போதையில் விழுந்தவன் இன்னும் மேலே போக விரும்புவானே தவிர கீழே எட்டி பார்க்க மாட்டான். நீ அன்னார்ந்து பார்த்தால் கண் கூசும் என்று அச்சப்படும் ஜாதி,ஆனாலும் நிறையபேர் இந்த மேனேஜர் பதவிக்காக ஏங்குகிறார்கள் ஏன் ? நிர்வாகத்திடம் முட்டி மோதி வாங்கத் துடிக்கிறார்களே ஏன் ? அதில் கஷ்டம் இருப்பது அவர்களுக்கு தெரியாது. என்பதாலா ? அப்படியல்ல அதிலுள்ள சிரமங்கள் நன்றாகவே அவர்களுக்கு தெரியும். ஆனாலும் ஒரே இடத்தில் தேங்கிகிடக்க பல மனங்கள் விரும்புவதில்லை. எழுந்து மேலே முன்னேற வேண்டுமென ஒவ்வொரு மனதும் துடிக்கிறது. எதில் தான் கஷ்டமில்லை எங்கே தான் தோல்வியில்லை. ஆனாலும் அவைகளுக்காக பயந்து மூலையில் கிடந்தால் நான் மேனேஜர், எனக்கு கீழ் பத்துபேர் வேலை செய்கிறான் என்ற சந்தோஷம் கிடைக்குமா ? என் சகலபாடியை பார்த்து நிற்காதவர்கள் என்னை கண்டதும் மரியாதையாக எழுந்து நின்று கை குலுக்கும் போது கிடைக்கும் மகிழ்வை எந்த விலை கொடுத்தாலும் வாங்க முடியாது.

உன் அடிமை புத்தி உனக்கு சந்தோஷம் என்றால் வேலையை விட்டுவிடு, வீணாக புலம்பி நிர்வாகத்தை கெடுக்காதே என்றான். ஆளுமை திறன் என்பது கர்வமல்ல ஒரு வித இன்பம். அந்த போதையில் விழுந்தவன் இன்னும் மேலே போக விரும்புவானே தவிர கீழே எட்டி பார்க்க மாட்டான். நீ அன்னார்ந்து பார்த்தால் கண் கூசும் என்று அச்சப்படும் ஜாதி, பணிவானவனை மாற்றலாம் அடிமையை மாற்றுவது கடினம்.

சுவாமி விவேகானந்தரின் சிகாகோ சொற்பொழிவு உரையின் பகுதி.(பேப்பர்-9),
செப்டம்பர்,19,1893. (தமிழாக்கம்) இதன் ஆங்கிலப் பதிப்பு குறும்படத் தொகுப்பு பதிவினைத் தனியாக காணவும்.

இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் கிடைத்தற்கரிய செல்வமாக மனதில் கொண்டு, அன்புடன் அன்புக்காகவே அன்பு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று வேதங்கள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. இப்பூமியில் இந்துக்களுக்கு கடவுளாக கருதப்படும், கிருஷ்ணராக அவதரித்த, அந்த இறைவன், இறைவனை வழி படுவது எவ்வாறு என்பதை வழிமுறைப் படுத்துகிறார் என்று பார்ப்போம். அவர் கூறுகிறார், மனிதன் இவ்வுலகில் ஒரு தாமரை இலையைப் போல வாழவேண்டும், அது தண்ணீரிலேயே வளர்ந்தாலும், தண்ணீரினால் நனைவதில்லையோ அதுபோலவே இவ்வுலகில் வாழவேண்டும் என்கின்றார். மனதை (ஆன்மாவை) இறைவனுக்கும், உடலை (சடத்தை) வாழ்க்கைக்கும் அர்பணிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதனை வலியுறுத்திக் கூறுகின்றார். இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் நன்மை பெறவேண்டி இறைவனின்பால் அன்பு செலுத்துதல் நல்லதே. ஆயினும், இறைவனின் அன்பைப் பெற வேண்டி அவனின் பால் அன்பு செலுத்துதல் மிகவும் நல்லதாகும். "இறைவனே, நான் கல்வி வேண்டேன், செல்வம் வேண்டேன், மக்கட்செல்வமும் வேண்டேன், உனது எண்ணப்படியே எத்தனை பிறவி வேண்டுமானாலும் எடுக்கின்றேன், ஆனால் எவ்வித சுயநலமும் இன்றி, எவ்வித எதிர்பார்ப்பும் இன்றி, உன்னையே மனதில் நினைத்து, உன் அன்பைப் பெற உன்பால் அன்பு செலுத்தும் வரம் மட்டும் தந்துவிடு " என்று ஒரு பிரார்த்தனை கூறுகின்றது.

மகாபாரதத்திலிருந்து ஒரு எடுத்தக் காட்டு:-ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணர் சீடர்களில் ஒருவர், பாரதத்தின் அன்றைய சக்ரவர்த்தியாக விளங்கிய யுதிஷ்டிரர், அவர் பகைவர்களால் நாட்டிலிருந்து விரட்டப்பட்டு, மனைவியுடன் இமயமலைக் காட்டில் வசிக்க நேர்ந்தது. ஒரு நாள் அரசி யுதிஷ்டிரரிடம் இறைவனிடம் மிகுந்த அன்பும், பக்க்தியையும் கொண்டு, அறத்தில் மிகவும் சிறந்து விளங்கும் உங்களுக்கும் ஏன் துன்பம் வரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு யுதிஷ்டிரர், தேவி, இதோ இந்த இமயமலையைப் பார். எவ்வளவு அழகாக எழிலோடும், மாட்சிமையோடும், கம்பீரத்தோடும் காட்சி அளிக்கிறது. நான் இதனை நேசிக்கிறேன். இது எனக்கு ஒன்றும் தருவதில்லை. அழகும், கம்பீரமும் நிறைந்தவற்றில் உள்ளத்தைப் பறி கொடுப்பது எனது இயல்பு. அதனால் நான் அதனை விரும்புகின்றேன். அது போலவே, இறைவனை நான் நேசிக்கிறேன். அவரே, அனைத்து அழகிற்கும், கம்பீரத்திற்கும் மூலகாரணம். அன்பு செலுத்தப்பட வேண்டியவர் அவர் ஒருவரே! அவரை நேசிப்பது ஏன் இயல்பு. ஆதலால், அவரை நன் நேசிக்கிறேன். நான் எதுவும் அவரிடம் கேட்கவில்லை. அவர் விருப்பம் போல் என்னை எங்கு வேண்டுமானாலும் வைக்கட்டும். அன்புக்காகவே அவரிடம் நான் அன்பு செலுத்த வேண்டும். அன்பை விலைபேச என்னால் முடியாது. எவ்வித கைமாறும், பிரதிபலனும் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் இறைவனில் அருளைப்/அன்பைப் பெறவேண்டி அன்பு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதனையே இது வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

My name is Doug Copp. I am the Rescue Chief and Disaster Manager of the American Rescue Team International (ARTI ), the world's most experienced rescue team. The information in this article will save lives in an earthquake.

I have crawled inside 875 collapsed buildings, worked with rescue teams from 60 countries, founded rescue teams in several countries, and I am a member of many rescue teams from many countries. I was the United Nations expert in Disaster Mitigation for two years, and have worked at every major disaster in the world since 1985, except for simultaneous disasters.

The first building I ever crawled inside of was a school in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake. Every child was under its desk. Every child was crushed to the thickness of their bones. They could have survived by lying down next to their desks in the aisles. It was obscene -- unnecessary.

Simply stated, when buildings collapse, the weight of the ceilings falling upon the objects or furniture inside crushes these objects, leaving a space or void next to them - NOT under them. This space is what I call the 'triangle of life'. The larger the object, the stronger, the less it will compact. The less the object compacts, the larger the void, the greater the probability that the person who is using this void for safety will not be injured. The next time you watch collapsed buildings, on television, count the 'triangles' you see formed. They are everywhere. It is the most common shape, you will see, in a collapsed building.

TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) Most everyone who simply 'ducks and covers' when building collapse are crushed to death. People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position. You should too in an earthquake. It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a bed, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks. Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on the back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed during an earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Most everyone who gets under a doorway when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above. If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different 'moment of frequency' (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads - horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn't collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are a likely part of the building to be damaged. Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.

8) Get near the outer walls of buildings or outside of them if possible - It is much better to be near the outside of the building rather than the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked.

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway. The victims of the San Francisco earthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. They could have easily survived by getting out and sitting or lying next to their vehicles. Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, that paper does not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

The Turkish Federal Government, City of Istanbul , University of Istanbul Case Productions and ARTI cooperated to film this practical, scientific test. We collapsed a school and a home with 20 mannequins inside. Ten mannequins did 'duck and cover,' and ten mannequins I used in my 'triangle of life' survival method. After the simulated earthquake collapse we crawled through the rubble and entered the building to film and document the results. The film, in which I practiced my survival techniques under directly observable, scientific conditions , relevant to building collapse, showed there would have been zero percent survival for those doing duck and cover.

There would likely have been 100 percent survivability for people using my method of the 'triangle of life.' This film has been seen by millions of viewers on television in Turkey and the rest of Europe, and it was seen in the USA , Canada and Latin America on the TV program Real TV.
