மனித வரலாற்றை வகைபடுத்திய அறிஞர்கள் அதனை பழைய கற்காலம், புதிய கற்காலம், இரும்புக்காலம் ,வெண்கலக்காலம் எனப் பலவகையாகப் பிரித்திருக்கின்றனர்.இவற்றுள் மனிதன் மிருகம் போல உண்டு ,இனப்பெருக்கம் செய்த காலத்தில் இருந்து சற்றே மேம்பட்டு,சிந்திக்கத் தொடங்கிய காலத்தை பழைய கற்காலம் எனலாம்.இந்த பழைய கற்காலத்திலேயே சிவலிங்க வழிபாடு இருந்ததற்கான அடையாளக் கூறுகள் அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் கிடைத்திக்கின்றன. இதில் இருந்தே சைவத்தின் தொன்மையை நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.

வட அமெரிக்காவில் கொலராடோ என்னும் இடத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு குன்றின் மீது சிவன் கோயிலும் அதில் ஒரு பெரிய சிவலிங்கமும் 1937ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களினால் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டன. இந்தக்கோயில் பத்தாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முற்பட்டது என்று ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் உறுதி செய்துள்ளனர்.

ஜாவாத்தீவில் பல சிவன் கோயில்கள் அழிஉற்ற நிலையில் காணப்படுகின்றன.டெல்கால் என்ற ஆற்றில் இருந்து சிவபெருமானின் செப்புசிலை ஒன்று கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இங்குள்ள கோயில்களில் இன்றும் கூட திருவாசகம் ஓதப்படுகிறது.இங்கே இருப்பவர்களுக்கு தமிழ்மொழி தெரியாததால் ஏதோ மந்திரம் போல் உச்சரித்து வருகிறார்கள்.மேலும் ஜாவாவில் உள்ள பெரம்பாணம் என்ற இடத்தில் உள்ள சிவன் கோயிலில் தாண்டவத்தின் 32 முத்திரைகளைக் குறிக்கும் சிற்பங்கள் உள்ளன ,.

சுமத்ராவில் அழிபாடுற்ற சிவன் கோயில் உள்ளது. இங்கே அர்த்தநாரி வடிவம் ,கணபதி சிலை,நந்தி சிலை,ஆகியவை இருக்கின்றன.போர்போநியாவில் உள்ள மலைகுகையில் சிவன் ,விநாயகர் சிலைகள் உள்ளன.

சியாம் நாட்டிலும் கம்போடியாவிலும் சிவலிங்கத்தின் உருவங்கள் கிடைத்துள்ளன. சியாமில் பழைய சிவன்கோயில் இருக்கிறது.இந்த கோவிலில் இப்போதும் பொங்கல் விழ சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

பாபிலோனியாவில் நிகழ்ந்த அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் 6000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னாள் கட்டப்பட்ட சிவாலயங்களும், அவற்றின் இடிபாடுகளும் கிடைத்துள்ளன.இங்கு கிடைத்த களிமண் எட்டில் சிவா என்ற பெயர் காணப்படுகிறது.

பாபிலோனியர்கள் தங்கள் கடவுளுக்கு இட்டு வழங்கும் பெயர்களில் எல்சடை என்ற பெயரும் உள்ளது. இச்சொல் சூரியனைப்போல சிவந்த சடையை உடையவன் என்று பொருள் தரும்.இரண்டு புறங்களிலும் முத்தலை சூலமும்,கையில் மழுவாயிதமும் கொண்ட சிவபெருமான் காளையின் மீது நிற்பதாக இருக்கின்ற சிலை ஒன்று கிடைத்திருக்கிறது.மேலும் பாபிலோனியர்களின் மாத பெயர்களில் ஒன்று சிவனின் பெயரைக் கொண்டதாக இருக்கிறது.

எகிப்தில் உள்ள பாலைவனம் ஒன்றுக்கு சிவன் என்று பெயர் வழங்கி வருகிறது.இங்கு வாழும் மக்கள் அமன்யூ என்ற கடவுளை வணங்குகிறார்கள்.அந்தக் கடவுளுக்கு நந்தி வாகனம் இருக்கிறது.கிரேக்க நாட்டில் சிவலிங்கங்களைப் பொது இடங்களில் எண்ணெயில் நீராட்டி வழிபட்டதாக எழுதி வைத்திருக்கின்றனர். பௌத்த மதத்தில் ஒரு பிரிவான ஷிண்டோயிசம் என்பதில் சிவலிங்கத்திற்குப் பெருமதிப்பு தரப்படுகிறது.

இவை அனைத்திற்கும் மேலாக இமயமலைக்கு அருகேயுள்ள அமர்நாத் என்னும் புனிதத் தலத்தில் இயற்கையாகவே பனிக்கட்டியினால் ஆன சிவலிங்கத் திருஉருவம் ஆறு மாதத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை உருவாகிக் கரைந்து வருகிறது.

மேலே கூறப்பட்ட சான்றுகளின் மூலமாக உலகின் பல்வேறு இடங்களிலும் சிவன்கோயில்களும், சிவவழிபாடும்,சிவனின் பல்வேறு நிலையில் அமைந்த உருவங்களும் விழாக்களும் நடந்து வந்தன என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்கிறோம்.உலகமெங்கும் சிவ வழிபாடு பரவிக் கிடந்தது என்பது யாராலும் மறுக்க முடியாத உண்மை.

"ஓம் நமசிவாய " என்ற சிவா நாமத்தை அன்போடு உச்சரித்தாலே பல பிறவிகளில் செய்த பாவம் விலகும்.சிவன் கோயிலில் எரிந்து கொண்டிருந்த விளக்குத் திரியைத் தூண்டிவிட்ட காரணத்தினால் அளவில்லாத புண்ணியம் பெற்ற சாதாரண எலி,மறுபிறவியில் மகாபலி சக்கரவர்த்தியாகப் பிறந்ததை புராணங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.இந்த உலகத்தில் பிறவி எடுத்தவர்கள் நல்ல வழியைப் பெறுவதற்கு துணையாக சிவமந்திரம் ,சிவதரிசனம் ,சிவவழிபாடு ஆகிய மூன்றுமே ஆகும்.இவை மூன்றும் ஒவ்வொருவருடைய வாழ்கையிலும் மிகவும் இன்றியமையதாவை.

The four sons, of Brahma, Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana, Sanat kumara did austere meditation and analysis, but they were unclear of the Supreme Truth. They finally decided to come to Lord Shiva to get the knowledge of the Truth. The Lord sat under the banyan tree, and the four sages also sat down around Him. Lord stayed in the yoga posture without saying a single word. The four sages got all their doubts cleared just by that posture. The form in which God appeared as a Supreme Guide is the form of wisdom Dakshinamurti.

This explains that the Truth cannot be explained in words and must be experienced. Including the great chinmudra posture, the posture of ShrI Dakshinamurtii, who is the teacher of all the teachers, indicates a lot of information that needs days to explain. Home Remedies For SINUSITIS..

• Raw Vegetable juice is beneficial in treating Sinusitis. Combine 300 ml of Carrot juice, 100 ml of Cucumber juice, 100 ml of Beet juice and 200 ml of Spinach juice and drink on a Daily basis (ideally 30-40 min Before meals, at least ones a day).

• Consuming Fruits rich in Vitamin A is Effective in Sinusitis. One of the richest sources of the vitamin is MANGO (ideally when On season). So, patients suffering from sinus should have Lots of Mangoes. Other food products rich in Vitamin A include Pumpkin, Leafy Vegetables, Egg Yolk, Tomatoes, Papaya, Carrots, Curd and whole (raw) milk.

• Roast 100 grams of Cumin seeds and mix them with 200 grams of pure Ghee. Consume daily. It is one of the most effective ways to cure Sinusitis.

• Take a tsp of Black Cumin Seeds and tie them in a Thin cloth. Inhaling (breathing In) from the cloth would be effective in Reducing Sinusitis.

• Boil a tsp of Fenugreek seeds in half a glass of water, until the decoction reduces to half. Consuming 3 to 4 cups of this tea would help in expelling all the toxins, increasing the perspiration rate and thereby reducing fever, along with sinusitis.

• Pungent smelling vegetables, like Onion hr and Garlic, are helpful in curing Sinusitis. Inhaling (breathing In) their smell would also prove to be Beneficial.

• Steam is effective in curing sinusitis. It opens the nasal passage by draining the sinuses and making mucous flow easy.

• Avoid Cold items and Oily stuff. They trigger the upper respiratory diseases, instead of lessening them.

• Gargling with salted lukewarm (warm) water is beneficial in treating sinusitis. For this, add a pinch of salt in a glass of lukewarm water and gargle with it.

• Prepare Ginger or Cinnamon tea and drink it when it is slightly on the Hotter side. It is Helpful in Curing Sinusitis.

பூ 50 கிராம், 300 நீரில் போட்டு 100 மில்லியாகக் காய்ச்சி பாலும் கற்கண்டும் கலந்து இரவு உணவிற்குப் பின் குடித்துவர உடல் வலிவு மிகும்.

கருவேலம் பற்பொடியில் பல் துலக்கி மகிழ இலைக் கியழத்தால் வாய் கொப்பளித்து வர பல் நோய் அனைத்தும் தீரும்.மகிழம் பட்டையைக் கொதிக்க வைத்துக் குடிநீராக்கி வாய் கொப்பளிக்க வாய் புண் ஆறும்.

10 கிராம் மகிழம் பட்டையைப் பொடித்து அரை லிட்டர் நீரிலிட்டு 100 மி.லி.யாகக் காய்ச்சி வடி கட்டி தேன் சேர்த்து 50 மி.லியாக காலை, மாலை தொடர்ந்து சாப்பிட்டு வர கருப்பை பலவீனம் தீரும். காய்ச்சல் தணியும்.

மகிழங் காயை மென்று அடக்கி வைத்திருந்து துப்ப பல்லாட்டம் நீங்கி பல் உறுதிப் படும்.மகிழவித்துப் பருப்பை வேளைக்கு 5 கராம் அரைத்து பாலில் கலக்கி சாப்பிட்ட் வர தாது விருத்தியாகும். உடல் வெப்பு, மலக்கட்டு, நஞ்சு ஆகியவை தீரும்.

மகிழம் பூவை காயவைத்து அரைத்துப் பொடியாக்கிப் பாலில் காலை,மாலை அறிந்தி வர காச்சல் தலைவலி, உடல் வலி, கழுத்து, தோழ்பட்டை வலி போகும். அறிவு வளர்ச்சிக்கு இது ஒரு டானிக். மூத்திர எரிச்சல் குறையும். பழத்தை குடநீராக்கிக் குடிக்க குழந்தை பிறப்பின் போது எழிதாக இருக்கும். பட்டையின் பொடி புண்களை ஆற்ற வல்லது.

Nike: Named for the greek goddess of victory. The swoosh symbolises her flight.

Skype: The original concept was ‘Sky-Peer-to-Peer’, which morphed into Skyper, then Skype.

Mercedes: This was actually financier's daughter's name.

Adidas: The company name was taken from its founder Adolf (ADI) Dassler whose first name was shortened to the nickname Adi. Together with first three letters of his surname it formed ADIDAS.

Adobe: This came from the name of the river Adobe Creek that ran behind the house of founder John Warnock.

Apple Computers: It was the favourite fruit of founder Steve Jobs. He was three months late for filing a name for the business, and he threatened to call his company Apple Computers if the other colleagues didn't suggest a better name by 5 o'clock.

CISCO: It is not an acronym as popularly believed. It's short for San Francisco.

Compaq: This name was formed by using COMP, for computer and PAQ to denote a small integral object.

Jakarta was name of the conference room at SUN where most of the meetings between SUN and Apache took place.

Tomcat: The servlet part of the Jakarta project. Tomcat was the code name for the JSDK 2.1 project inside SUN.

C: Dennis Ritchie improved on the B programming language and called it 'New B'. He later called it C. Earlier B was created by Ken Thompson as a revision of the Bon programming language (named after his wife Bonnie).

C++: Bjarne Stroustrup called his new language 'C with Classes' and then 'newC'. Because of which the original C began to be called 'old C' which was considered insulting to the C community. At this time Rick Mascitti suggested the name C++ as a successor to C.

GNU: A species of African antelope. Founder of the GNU project Richard Stallman liked the name because of the humour associated with its pronunciation and was also influenced by the children's song 'The Gnu Song' which is a song sung by a gnu. Also it fitted into the recursive acronym culture with 'GNU's Not Unix'.

Java: Originally called Oak by creator James Gosling, from the tree that stood outside his window, the programming team had to look for a substitute as there was no other language with the same name. Java was selected from a list of suggestions. It came from the name of the coffee that the programmers drank.

LG: Combination of two popular Korean brands Lucky and Goldstar.
Linux: Linus Torvalds originally used the Minix OS on his system which here placed by his OS. Hence the working name was Linux (Linus' Minix). He thought the name to be too egotistical and planned to name it Freax (free+freak+x). His friend Ari Lemmke encouraged Linus to upload it to a network so it could be easily downloaded. Ari gave Linus a directory called 'Linux' on his FTP server, as he did not like the name Freax. (Linus parents named him after two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling).

Mozilla: When Marc Andreessen, founder of Netscape, created a browser to replace Mosaic (also developed by him), it was named Mozilla (Mosaic-Killer, Godzilla). The marketing guys didn't like the name however and it was re-christened Netscape Navigator.

Red Hat: Company founder Marc Ewing was given the Cornell lacrosse team cap (with red and white stripes) while at college by his grandfather. He lost it and had to search for it desperately. UNIX: When Bell Labs pulled out of MULTICS (MULTiplexed Information and Computing System), which was originally a joint Bell/GE/MIT project, Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie of Bell Labs wrote a simpler version of the OS. They needed the OS to run the game 'Space War' which was compiled under MULTICS. It was called UNICS - UNIplexed operating and Computing System by Brian Kernighan. It was later shortened to UNIX.

SCO (UNIX): From Santa Cruz Operation. The company's office was in Santa Cruz.

Xerox: The inventor, Chestor Carlson, named his product trying to say 'dry' (as it was dry copying, markedly different from the then prevailing wet copying). The Greek root 'xer' means dry.

Yahoo: The word was invented by Jonathan Swift and used in his book 'Gulliver's Travels'. It represents a person who is repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human. Yahoo! founders Jerry Yang and David Filo selected the name because they considered themselves yahoos.

Relevance of the Vedas today

Some people with a poor fund of knowledge reject the Vedas, considering them to be an outdated text left by some primi­tive men of the stone age. However, the knowledge of even the scholarly historians about world history is limited to only a few thousand years: naturally therefore, their opinions about the an­cient Vedas are of no value. The fact is that the Vedas constitute a complete wisdom handed over by God Himself at the dawn of ,hn rrpntion of the universe The Vedas are perfect: they are called apaiirusheya, indicating that they are not man-made. They are not meant for casual study like a novel or for idle armchair specu­lation; their injunctions arc meant to be heard and practiced in our daily lives so as to save ourselves from the continuous on­slaught of material miseries and to achieve the eternal world.

People generally believe that modern science has brought a sophisticated brand of knowledge that makes the Vedas obsolete. But nothing could be further from the truth; neither are the Vedas obsolete nor is the modern scientific knowledge new as can be seen from the following incident from the Mahabharata. When Arjuna saved Maya danava from the burning Khandava forest, the danava offered to give Arjuna yantra-vidya (knowl­edge of machines and industry) in gratitude. But Krishna stopped him ,saying that the introduction of machine technology would cause the entire human society to be spoiled and that this tech­nology was to be reserved for the dark age of Kali.

Thus gross technology was not unknown at any time, but in the Vedic society it was known to be low class and destructive and was therefore never introduced.Moreover, modern science teaches only jada vidya, knowl­edge about dead matter (earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intel­ligence and ego). It does not help one to get out of the sufferings of birth, death, old age and disease. The Vedas. on the other hand. Prescribe practical methods of spiritual practice for every age. including the present age of Kali. They are not bound by time, Place or circumstance. Advancement in science and technology has no bearing on the Vedic knowledge, as the Vedas are meant to deliver a suffering man from the ocean of nescience in the past, in the present and in the future. Anyone, at any point of time, can hear the Vedic knowledge, practice it, purify his life and return to the kingdom of God. Derinkuyu : The Underground City

In 1963, during a simple renovation in the town of Derinkuyu, a cave wall was opened, revealing a passage way to an underground city, thousands of years old, extending more than 280 feet deep.

Microsoft Office Boy

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft.

The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

"You are employed." He said." Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start."

The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email."

Say, if you have Unexplained weight loss or weight gain (and have Numbness in your fingers, hair loss) it also could be a sign that something went wrong with your Endocrine system and it should be checked via blood test:

- Hypothalamus and Pituitary gland (body) hormones!!... those two produce Hormones which are In Control of Thyroid - so they should be checked too!!
