EFFECT OF INSOLATION ON ‘777 OIL’ USED FOR PSORIASIS IN SIDDHA SYSTEM OF MEDICINE

Psoriasis (say "suh-RY-uh-sus") is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin.

Normally, skin cells grow gradually and flake off about every 4 weeks. New skin cells grow to replace the outer layers of the skin as they shed.

But in psoriasis , new skin cells move rapidly to the surface of the skin in days rather than weeks. They build up and form thick patches called plaques (say "plax"). The patches range in size from small to large. They most often appear on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, or lower back. Psoriasis is most common in adults. But children and teens can get it too.

Having psoriasis can be embarrassing, and many people, especially teens, avoid swimming and other situations where patches can show. But there are many types of treatment that can help keep psoriasis under control.

Experts believe that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin. In some cases, psoriasis runs in families.

People with psoriasis often notice times when their skin gets worse. Things that can cause these flare-ups include a cold and dry climate, infections, stress, dry skin, and taking certain medicines.

Psoriasis isn't contagious. It can't be spread by touch from person to person.

Symptoms of psoriasis appear in different ways. Psoriasis can be mild, with small areas of rash. When psoriasis is moderate or severe, the skin gets inflamed with raised red areas topped with loose, silvery, scaling skin. If psoriasis is severe, the skin becomes itchy and tender. And sometimes large patches form and may be uncomfortable. The patches can join together and cover large areas of skin, such as the entire back.

In some people, psoriasis causes joints to become swollen, tender, and painful. This is called psoriatic arthritis (say "sor-ee-AT-ik ar-THRY-tus"). This arthritis can also affect the fingernails and toenails, causing the nails to pit, change color, and separate from the nail bed. Dead skin may build up under the nails.

Symptoms often disappear (go into remission), even without treatment, and then return (flare up).

777 Oil:

777 oil, a coded drug is used in the treatment of Psoriasis at Central Research Institute for Siddha, Madras (Krishnamurthy et al 1981). The oil is applied on the affected are of the skin and the patients are exposed to mild sunlight for a minimum period of 2 – 3 hours per day. This is repeated till a complete relief is obtained.

In the preparation of the drug, the fat soluble material of the leaves Wrightia trinctoria are extracted into the oil in sunlight. This method of preparation in sunlight is called “Sooriya pudam” in Siddha system of medicine. It is claimed that these fat soluble substances have Keratolytic action.

The role of sunlight both in preparation and treatment is particularly emphasised in this drug. In recent years Photochemotherapy and irradation with ultra – violet rays are tried in the treatment of Psoriasis with notable success (Skripkin, 1981).

777 oil is a single herbal formulation prepared by lipid extraction procedure. This drug is found to be effective in the management of Psoriasis. This formulation has already been clinically evaluated in several thousand of patients and has been proven to be effective for long term usage.

“777 oil” is a code drug of the Siddha system of medicine used in the treatment of Psoriasis. The drug is derived from the leaves Wrightia tinctoria by insolation, with coconut oil as base. The present study is aimed at comparing the drug prepared by insolation with that prepared in darkness.

Analytical studies carried out in both the drugs showed difference in acid number without exposing to sunlight. The drugs showed changes in acid and iodine numbers on exposure to sunlight.

Studies on Thin Layer Chromatography showed no difference between the two drugs. However semi quantitative chromatography showed that two spots were more in concentration in the drug prepared in darkness than the drug processes in sunlight. Except one spot all the spots Rf values are identical to raw coconut oil.

In analytical studies carried out in shade dried leaves of Wrightia tinctoria showed the presence of iron calcium and ammonium. Alcohol had maximum extractive matter.

Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge Bars.

Allergen Information: Free of dairy, egg, corn, gluten, yeast

Ingredients: Makes a medium bread pan 9 by 5 inch

1/2 cup coconut milk or other non dairy milk
1.5 oz vegan dark chocolate, 1/3 to 1/2 cup, (1/2 of 3 oz Theo 70% Cacao Dark Chocolate)
3/4 cup Justins chocolate hazelnut butter or plain homemade hazelnut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 to 1 cup dates, pitted

Method:
1. Soak the dates in warm water for 10 to 15 mins.
2. Heat coconut milk until almost hot then take off heat. Add chocolate and let sit for half a minute, then whisk to melt.
3. Blend the melted chocolate, nut butter, vanilla, dates until smooth. Taste and adjust sweet, chocolate etc. Blend well. Pour into parchment lined pan. Freeze for 2 hours. Slice and serve or slice and freeze in airtight container.

To make quick Nutella shake: Take 2 to 3 pieces of the fudge or 3 tbsp vegan nutella(chocolate hazelnut butter), 3/4 cup almond milk, sweetener to taste, ice cubes. Blend and serve.

Note: Use any nut butter for variations. Use seed butter to make nut-free. Blend with 2 cups coconut milk to make nutella ice cream.

Wind Turbine Generates Electricity Without Rotating Blades

A Spanish company called Vortex Bladeless has come up with bladeless wind turbine technology that seeks to provide more energy for less, and address the criticisms aimed at traditional wind farms - particularly where wildlife is concerned.

With blades that spin at speeds of more than 320 km/h (200 miles/hour), wind turbines haven’t been the best news for the birds that live around them. While for the most part, the damage is fairly minimal, one wind farm in particular, Altamont Pass in California, US, has drawn the ire of local residents because of the 1,300 birds of prey - including eagles, falcons, hawks - that are killed each year as they try to migrate through it.And keeping all those heavy blades spinning that fast indefinitely? Well, it’s no easy task, and certainly not cheap, energy-wise. According to Vortex Bladeless, just by ditching the blades - and all moving parts, in fact - they will save around 40 percent of the energy cost of regular wind turbines, largely by cutting down on maintenance costs. "Since the Vortex doesn't have moving parts or gears, it should last longer and it won't require periodic lubrication," Dante D’Orazio from The Verge reports. "The simpler design also means that manufacturing costs are about half that of a traditional wind turbine.”

D’Orazio adds that the bladeless turbines are estimated to harvest approximately 30 percent less energy, but because they’re basically just sticks now, you can cram a whole lot more of them into the space of a regular wind turbine. Plus these things are completely silent, so no one can claim instances of wind turbine syndrome, where the sub-sonic noise generated by traditional wind turbines is blamed for everything from headaches and dizziness to sleepiness and depression. 

So how do they work, exactly? Just like traditional wind turbines, the bladeless variety still needs to capture kinetic energy and convert it to electricity, but instead of using a blade, it uses a phenomenon known as vorticity, which produces a series of spinning vortices in the surrounding air. The team at Vortex Bladeless designed their 2.7-metre-high 'cones' specifically so that these vortices would accumulate simultaneously all the way up their length. Liz Stinson explains at Wired:

"In its current prototype, the elongated cone is made from a composite of fibreglass and carbon fibre, which allows the mast to vibrate as much as possible (an increase in mass reduces natural frequency). At the base of the cone are two rings of repelling magnets, which act as a sort of nonelectrical motor. When the cone oscillates one way, the repelling magnets pull it in the other direction, like a slight nudge to boost the mast’s movement regardless of wind speed."

The kinetic energy that's generated from all this movement is then converted into useable electricity using an electrical generator called an alternator.

Vortex Bladeless have already raised over $1 million in funding, and hope to gather more from investors in the US. They’re planning on installing their first prototype by the end of the year.

Audi has made a synthetic, high-grade fuel from plant sugars

Just last month, German car manufacturer Audi invented a carbon-neutral diesel fuel, made from water, carbon dioxide and renewable energy sources, and they say their pilot plant in Dresden will pump out 160 litres of the of the stuff every day in the coming months to power their Audi A8 cars.

Now, they’ve announced the development of another new type of environmentally friendly, petroleum-free synthetic fuel, which they’re calling 'e-benzin'. Manufactured in France by Audi’s partner company, Global Bioenergies, the fuel is produced by converting corn-derived glucose - a renewable source of biomass sugar - into isobutane gas. Commonly used in refrigeration systems and aerosols, isobutane gas is also one of the staples of the petrochemical industry. About 13 million tonnes of it is extracted annually from oil, and used to produce various types of fuels, plastics and elastomers. In this case, the team at Global Bioenergies refined it into a clear, high-grade, 'unleaded’ fuel.

"The next step in the process was to run the material through a conditioning and purification process, allowing it to be collected and stored in liquid form under pressure," Eric Mack reports for Gizmag. "Some of it was then sent to Germany to be converted into isooctane fuel, creating a pure, 100 octane gasoline."

That last point refers to the octane rating of the fuel, which is the standard measure for how much compression a type of engine or aviation fuel can withstand before it ignites. While a low octane rating is better for diesel engines, a high rating is required for gasoline engines, and the higher the rating, the more efficient it is to use.

The team says their Isooctane fuel can be used as an additive to regular unleaded fuel to make it more efficient, or can be used on its own as a fuel. And because their new fuel contains no benzene or sulphur, they say it burns very cleanly. While the next step of the process will be figuring out how to produce the fuel in large quantities, the company also aims to modify the manufacturing process so that no biomass is required - just water, hydrogen, CO2 and sunlight, like how they're producing their new 'e-diesel' fuel.

"We're thinking we're bringing green-ness to a field that desperately needs green-ness," Rick Bockrath, vice president for chemical engineering at Global Bioenergies,told Gizmag. "It's basically how we're moving away from an oil-based economy towards something that has a renewable, sustainable future to it."

With an 'e-gas'- or synthetic methane - being made on an industrial scale already, and projects dedicated to getting 'e-ethanol’, Audi 'e-diesel' and Audi 'e-benzin' on the market in the coming years, it’s hard not to be impressed by a car company that appears to be so invested in making petroleum-based fuels a thing of the past.

மே 26: மாவீரன் நெப்போலியன்... ஏழை வீட்டு பிள்ளையாக பிறந்து சக்கரவர்த்தி ஆன தினம் இன்று

தன்னம்பிக்கை கதைகளைத் தனித்தனியாக கேட்பதைவிட நெப்போலியனின் வாழ்க்கையை படித்தால் போதும்.

எளிமையான இத்தாலியில் இருந்து குடிபெயர்ந்த குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்தான் நெப்போலியன். ராணுவத்தில் சேர்ந்து கலக்கி எடுத்தான். ஒரு முறை எண்ணற்ற மக்கள் கூடிப் போராடிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். வீரர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மிகக் குறைவு. கொஞ்சம் மிஞ்சினால் மக்கள் பொங்கி விடுவார்கள். கண்ணாடி பந்துகளை கச்சிதமாக பீரங்கிகளில் பொருத்தி போராட்டக்காரர்கள் மீது செலுத்தினான். உயிர் இழப்பு இல்லாமல் கூட்டம் கலைந்தது.

வெகு சீக்கிரமே படைத் தளபதியாக உயர்ந்தார். ஆஸ்திரியாவின் வசமிருந்த இத்தாலியின் பகுதிகளை பிடித்துக் காண்பித்தான். கிழக்கு தேசங்களை பிடிக்கும் முயற்சியை நெல்சன் தகர்த்தார்.
பயமென்றால் என்னவென்றே அறியாமல் தன்னை வார்த்தெடுத்துக் கொண்ட நெப்போலியன் உருவத்தில் பார்க்க குள்ளமானவர்.

ஒரு முறை போர்க்களத்தில் வென்ற பிறகு வீரர்களை கொண்டாட அனுப்பிவிட்டு நெப்போலியன் தனியாக வேகமாக குதிரையை செலுத்திக்கொண்டு பயணப்பட ஆரம்பித்தான். உற்சாக மிகுதியில் இன்னமும் குதிரையின் வேகத்தை அதிகப்படுத்தும் பொருட்டு கடிவாளத்தை பிடித்து இழுத்தான்.

குதிரையின் வாயில் இருந்து ரத்தம் சொட்டிக்கொண்டே இருந்தது. சிட்டென பறக்க ஆரம்பித்தது. கிடுகிடு பள்ளம் ஒன்று திடீர் என குறுக்கிட்டது. அப்படியே குதித்து விடலாம்; குதிரையால் தாவக்கூடிய தூரத்தைவிட ஒரு ஐந்தடி அதிகமாகவே அகலமாக இருந்தது பள்ளம். பார்த்தான்; வீரனுக்கு அழகு இப்படி சாவதுதான் என எண்ணிக்கொண்டு முடுக்கினான். பள்ளத்தில் குதிரை தாவி வீழ்ந்தபொழுது, அந்த ஐந்தடியை மிதந்து கொண்டு இருக்கும்பொழுதே தாவி அடிகளோடு தப்பித்தான். தன்னை ‘விதியின் மனிதன்’ என அழைத்துக்கொண்டான்.

நெப்போலியன் பிரெஞ்சு புரட்சியால் நாட்டில் ஏற்பட்டு இருந்த கொதிநிலையை பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்டு ஆட்சியை பிடித்துக்கொண்டான். என்றாலும், முதலில் மூன்று பேர் கொண்ட அமைப்பை கொண்டு ஆள்வது போல பாவ்லா காட்டிவிட்டு ஆட்சிப் பீடம் ஏறினான். தானே மகுடத்தை எடுத்து சூட்டிக்கொண்டான். உலக வரலாற்றில் ஏழை ஒருவரின் மகன் ஒரு மாபெரும் நாட்டின் சக்ரவர்த்தி ஆகிற அற்புதம் அன்றைக்கு நிகழ்ந்தது.

ஒரு நாளைக்கு நான்கு மணி நேரம் மட்டும் உறங்கிய நெப்போலியன் ஆழ்ந்து வாசிக்கிற பழக்கம் உள்ளவன். வாசிப்பே நம்மை பக்குவப்படுத்தும் என்பது அவன் எண்ணம். குள்ளமாக இருந்ததால் அவன் அரசவைக்கு நடந்து வருகிறபொழுது அவன் அணிந்திருக்கும் போர்வாள் உரசி இரத்தின கம்பளங்கள் கிழிந்து போகும். பின் இரும்பால் கம்பளம் வைத்தபொழுது உரசிக்கொண்டு தீப்பொறி பறக்க அரசவைக்கு வருவார்.

அவருக்கு தன்னைவிட இரண்டாண்டுகள் மூத்தவளும், இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளுக்கு தாயுமான ஜோசபின் மீது முதல் பார்வையிலேயே காதல் பூத்தது. அவளை மணம் செய்து கொண்டார். அவருக்காக உலகம் முழுக்க இருந்து ரோஜா மலர் செடிகளை பரிசாக அனுப்பி வைப்பார். அதன் மூலம் உருவான தோட்டம் மிக பிரமாண்டமானது. ஜோசபைனுக்கு நெப்போலியன் எழுதிய காதல் கடிதங்கள் தனிக் காவியம். அவள் பிள்ளை பெற்றுத்தர முடியவில்லை என்று விவாகரத்து செய்த பின்னும் பெரிய மாளிகை கொடுத்து அவளுக்காக கண்ணீர் வடித்தான் நெப்போலியன்.

போர்களில் தொடந்து வென்று கொண்டிருந்த நெப்போலியனின் சொந்த வாழ்க்கை வெகு சிக்கனமானது. ஓரிரு செட் ஆடைகள், தன் அறையில் தன் பதினான்கு ஆண்டுகால சம்பளத்தில் வாங்கிய மேசை, நாற்காலி ஆகியவற்றில்தான் தன் வாழ்க்கையை ஒட்டிய எளிமை விரும்பி அவர். இரண்டு வேளை மட்டுமே எளிமையான உணவு சாப்பிடுவார். அரைக் குவளை காபி மட்டும் இரண்டு அல்லது மூன்று வேளை குடிப்பார். வெகு சுறுசுறுப்பாக இருக்கும் அவனின் சின்னம் தேனீ.

பல நாடுகளை வென்ற அவன் செய்த தவறு ரஷ்யாவின் மீதான படையெடுப்பு. தான் கொண்டு வந்த இங்கிலாந்துடன் வியாபாரம் செய்யக்கூடாது என்கிற கண்ட முறையை ஏற்க மறுத்த ரஷ்யா மீது போர் தொடுத்தான். நாட்டையே துப்புரவாக துடைத்து வைத்திருந்தார்கள் மக்கள். ரஷ்ய குளிர் வாட்டி எடுத்தது. உயிரை அப்படியே உருவி எடுத்தது. பல வீரர்கள் சுருண்டு இறந்தார்கள். ஒன்றுமே இல்லாத மாஸ்கோவை கைப்பற்றினார்கள். பசிக்கு சாப்பிட எதுவுமில்லாமல் குதிரைகளையே வெட்டி உண்ணவேண்டிய நிலைமை. வெறிச்சோடி போன மாஸ்கோவின் தெருக்கள்தான் காத்துக்கொண்டு இருந்தன.

இருந்ததில் பாதி படையை காவு கொடுத்துவிட்டு நெப்போலியன் இன்றுதான் பின்வாங்கினார். அதற்கு பின் நடைபெற்ற போரில் தோற்று எல்பா தீவில் சிறை வைக்கப்பட்டார் அவர். “ரஷ்யக் குளிர் நெப்போலியனை தோற்கடித்தது!”என வரலாறு எள்ளி நகையாடுகிறது.

அப்பொழுது நடந்த ஒரு சம்பவம். ரஷ்ய படைகளின் கண்ணில்பட்டு தப்ப முயன்று ஒரு தையல்காரனிடம் சரண் புகுந்தார் நெப்போலியன். “என்னை காட்டிகொடுக்காவிட்டால் மூன்று வரங்கள் தருகிறேன்!”என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு ஒரு பெரிய துணிமூட்டைக்குள் ஒளிந்துகொண்டார் நெப்போலியன். ரஷ்ய படைகள் வந்தன. துணிமூட்டைக்குள் ஜஸ் லைக் தட் என கத்திகளை சொருகி பார்த்தார்கள். ஆனால் ஒன்றும் ஆகாமல் நெப்ஸ் தப்பிவிட்டார். அதற்கு பின் பிரெஞ்சு படைகள் வந்தன. வரங்களை கேட்க சொன்னார் நெப்போலியன்.

“முதலில் கடையின் ஓட்டை சரி செய்ய வேண்டும்”. “முடிந்தது” என்றார் நெப்ஸ். “அடுத்து” என கம்பீரமாக கேட்க, “எதிர்க்கடை தையல்காரனை நாடு கடத்தி விடுங்கள் – ஒரே தொழில் போட்டி” எனவும் சிரித்துக்கொண்டே, “சரி! அடுத்து?”எனக் கேட்க நீங்கள் அந்த துணிமூட்டைக்குள் இருக்கும்பொழுது கத்தியால் குத்தினப்ப எப்படி ஃபீல் பண்ணிங்கனு தெரிஞ்சாகணும்!” “ஹ்ம்ம்” என்ற நெப்போலியன்…

“கிளம்புங்கள்!” என படைகளிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டு – வெளியேறும் பொழுது சடக்கென்று திரும்பி, படை வீரனை பார்த்து தையல்காரனின் தலையில் படக்கென்று துப்பாக்கியை வைக்கச்சொல்லி ஒன்று இரண்டு மூன்று என்றதும் சுட்டுவிடு என்றதும், துப்பாக்கி ஓட்டை தையல்காரன் தலையில் பொய் ஒட்டிகொண்டது. “ஒன்…டூ…த்ரீ!” என்றதும் அதீத மௌனம், குண்டு வெடிக்கவில்லை வியர்த்துப்போன தையல்காரனை பார்த்து “இப்படிதான் இருந்தது எனக்கு!” என்றுவிட்டு கிளம்பினான் நெப்போலியன். அந்த அளவுக்கு நகைச்சுவை உணர்வும் அவனிடம் இருந்தது.

எல்பாவில் இருந்து தப்பி வந்தபொழுது மக்கள் மீண்டும் அவன் பின் அணிவகுத்தார்கள். வாட்டர்லூவில் இறுதிப் போர். ஒய் வடிவத்தில் படைகளை நிலை நிறுத்தினான். போரில் வென்று விடுவோம் என்கிற நம்பிக்கை அவனுக்கு இருந்தது. அதற்கு முந்தைய நாள் நல்ல மழை பெய்தது. இவனுக்கு காய்ச்சல் வேறு; சொன்ன உத்தரவுகள் தப்பு தப்பாக வீரர்களின் காதுகளில் விழ தோல்வியை தழுவினான் நெப்போலியன். இந்த முறை தப்பிக்க முடியாத ஹெலினா தீவில் கொண்டு போய் தனிமைச் சிறை வைத்தார்கள்.

நாற்பது போர்கள் கண்ட நெப்போலியன் கொண்டு வந்த கோட் ஆப் நெப்போலியன் இன்றைக்கும் பின்பற்றப்படும் அருமையான சட்டம். எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் சம உரிமை வழங்கும் அற்புதம் அது. எளிமையான மொழியில் அவை எழுதப்பட்டு இருந்தன. நில உடைமை முறையை வேரறுத்து மக்களுக்கு நிலங்களை பிரித்து கொடுத்தான். மதத்தை அரசியலில் இருந்து ஒதுக்கி வைத்தார். நெப்போலியன் காலத்தில் அறிவியலுக்கும் முக்கியத்துவம் தரப்பட்டது. வோல்டாவை பார்த்து நீங்கள் வருடத்துக்கு ஒரு முறை அரசவைக்கு வந்தால்கூட போதும் என்கிற அளவுக்கு நெப்போலியன் தீராத வாசிப்பு ஆர்வம் கொண்டவன்.

எல்பாவில் சிறைவைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தபொழுது நெப்போலியனுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சிறிய அறையில் அவன் எதை தெரியுமா வைத்திருந்தான்? எல்லா அடுக்குகளிலும் மொத்தமாக மூவாயிரம் புத்தகங்களை வைத்திருந்தான். அவன் மரணத்துக்கு பிறகு ஆங்கில அரசே அவனை மாவீரன் என்று ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது.

“முடியாது என்பது முட்டாள்களின் அகராதியில் உள்ள வார்த்தை” என்ற குள்ளமான உருவம் கொண்ட வானுயர தன் உழைப்பால் எளிய குடும்பத்தில் இருந்து பேரரசனாக உயர்ந்து முடிசூட்டிக்கொண்ட நாள் இன்று..

கணினி உலகில் மொழி சீரமைப்பு என்ற பெயரில் சிலர் தமிழ் மொழியைச் சீரழிக்கும் முயற்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வருவதாக பாமக நிறுவனர் டாக்டர் ராமதாஸ் கவலை தெரிவித்துள்ளார். மேலும் இந்த முயற்சிகளை தடுத்து நிறுத்த தமிழக அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றும் அவர் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.

இது தொடர்பாக அவர் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில்," தரணியில் வளர்ந்த தமிழ் கணினியிலும் வளருவதற்கு தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியை (Tamil-Unicode) வளர்த்தெடுக்க வேண்டியது இன்றியமையாதது என்பதால், அதை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான முயற்சிகளில் தமிழறிஞர்கள் பலரும் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர். இந்த நிலையில், தமிழுடன் சற்றும் தொடர்பில்லாத சிலர் தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியை சீரமைப்பதாகக் கூறிக் கொண்டு சீரழிக்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர்.

தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான நடவடிக்கை என்றால் அது தமிழ் மொழியிலுள்ள 247 எழுத்துக்களையும் ஒருங்குறியில் சேர்ப்பதாகத்தான் இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், அதற்கு மாறாக தனித்தமிழ் பயன்பாட்டாளர்களால் ஏற்கப்படாத 5 கிரந்த எழுத்துக்கள் 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே திட்டமிட்டு தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியில் திணிக்கப்பட்டன.

அப்போது இது பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு இல்லாததால் அதை தடுக்க முடியாமல் போய்விட்டது. அதன்பின்னர் 2010 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 26 கிரந்த எழுத்துக்களைத் திணிக்க சதி நடைபெற்றது. ஆனால், இதற்கு எதிராக தமிழறிஞர்கள் கொதித்து எழுந்ததையடுத்து, இச்சிக்கலில் தலையிட்ட அப்போதைய தமிழக அரசு கிரந்த எழுத்துத் திணிப்பை தடுத்து நிறுத்தியது.

எனினும், தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியை சீரழிக்கும் முயற்சியில் தீவிரமாக ஈடுபட்டுள்ள சக்திகள், இப்போது தமிழ்நாட்டின் தொன்மையான பின்னங்கள், வாணிபக் குறியீடுகள், அளவைகளின் குறியீடுகள் போன்ற 55 வகையான குறியீடுகளை பிழையாக தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியில் சேர்க்க முயன்று வருகின்றன. இதற்கான பரிந்துரைகள் ஒருங்குறி சேர்த்தியத்திற்கு (Unicode- consortium) அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

இவை பழந்தமிழ் குறியீடுகள் என்பதால் இவை கண்டிப்பாக ஒருங்குறியில் சேர்க்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று அந்த சக்திகள் சார்பில் விளக்கம் அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. தொல்லியியல், நாணயவியல் மற்றும் வரலாற்றுத் துறையைச் சேர்ந்த வல்லுனர்கள் இந்த பரிந்துரையை வழங்கியிருந்தால் அதை ஏற்பதில் எந்த தடையும் இல்லை. மாறாக இப்பரிந்துரைகளை வழங்கியவர்கள் சிறீரமண சர்மா என்ற சமஸ்கிருத ஆய்வாளரும், அவருடன் இணைந்து செயல்படும் சில தனியார் நிறுவனங்களும் ஆகும்.

இவர்களில் சிறீரமண சர்மா ஒருங்குறி சேர்த்தியத்துடன் தமக்கு உள்ள தொடர்பை பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டு தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியை சீரழிக்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார்.

இதற்கு முன் பெரும் கொந்தளிப்பை ஏற்படுத்திய 26 கிரந்த எழுத்துக்களை ஒருங்குறியில் சேர்க்கும் பரிந்துரையை செய்தவர் இவர் தான்.

வழக்கமாக இத்தகைய பரிந்துரைகளுக்கு தமிழக அரசின் தமிழ் இணையக் கல்விக் கழகம் (Tamil Virtual University) ஏற்பளிப்பு வழங்கினால்தான் அவை ஒருங்குறி சேர்த்தியத்தால் ஏற்கப்படும். சிறீரமண சர்மாவின் பரிந்துரைகள் தமிழ் இணையக் கல்விக் கழகத்திற்கு வந்த போது, வரலாற்று ஆய்வாளர்கள், தொல்லியல் அறிஞர்கள் உள்ளிட்டோரைக் கொண்ட குழுவை அமைத்து ஆராய்ந்துதான் ஏற்பளிப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.

ஆனால், குற்றவாளியையே நீதிபதி ஆக்கியதைப் போல, சிறீரமண சர்மாவையே இதற்கான குழுவின் உறுப்பினராக்கி அவரது பரிந்துரைக்கு அவரையே ஏற்பளிப்பு வழங்க வைத்திருக்கிறது இணையக் கல்விக் கழகம். சிறீரமண சர்மா செய்தது குற்றம் என்றால், இணையக் கல்விக் கழகம் செய்தது பெருங்குற்றமாகும். இரண்டுமே கண்டிக்கத்தக்கவை.

அத்துடன் தமிழ் ஒருங்குறியில் தனியார்களும், வெளிநாட்டினரும் தலையிட்டுக் குழப்பம் செய்வதை தடுக்கவும், தமிழ்மொழி சார்ந்த குறியீடுகளை, கல்வெட்டு, வரலாற்றுத்துறை, ஓலைச்சுவடி, நாணயவியல் அறிஞர்கள் என்ற அனைவரும் கூடி ஆய்வு செய்த பின்னரே ஒருங்குறிச் சேர்த்தியத்திற்கு அனுப்பவும் தேவையான நெறிமுறைகளை அரசு உடனடியாக உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.

இதன் மூலம் கணினியுலகில் தமிழ் சீரழிவதைத் தடுத்து தமிழ் மரபின் தொன்மையை தமிழக அரசு காக்க வேண்டும் " என்று ராமதாஸ் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
