The Ten Most Searched For People In June

Posted by James Malone
The most searched for people in June include some fun, funny and inspiring people, with one of the most searched for people actually being a butt (literally!).

1. Justin Bieber

Is there any other young entertainer the teenage girls can search for? I ask this because once again the most searched for person is the kid with the bad haircut, yes Justin Bieber is at number one, again.

2. Taylor Lautner

Our favorite Werewolf, Taylor Lautner from “Twilight” is back, but this time for his new film “Abduction”, and for the films poster that’s getting the attention of all the girls.

3. Alicia Keys

The popular singer-songwriter and actress, Alicia Keys who hails from Hell’s Kitchen, is heading back home to New York and taking her talents to Broadway and producing Lydia R. Diamond’s play “Stick Fly“, which opens this December.

4. Natali Germanotta

The always wild and fun Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, surprised many by taking her little sister Natali Germanotta to the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York, where little sister got as much attention for her wardrobe as her big sister, who is as famous for her weird and wild look as her music.

5. Nancy Motes

Nancy Motes is half-sister of famed actress Julia Roberts and the sisters are getting attention for their latest family feud over Nancy’s weight. Maybe someone needs to tell Julia that unlike most actresses, the rest of us do actually eat.

6. Ginger Lee

Former adult film star Ginger Lee has found fame again, this time as the person receiving naughty text messages and the flurry of negative attention this garnered to eventually force Congressman Anthony Weiner to resign from office. This once again shows us all that you need to be careful with the information and photographs you post online, through social networks, Twitter and text messages.

7. Cody Simpson

The pressure is on for Bieber to maintain the top spot as the teen heartthrob has a growing rival in Cody Simpson, who is on the rise and back again, and maybe he will beat out Bieber sometime soon.

8. Madeline Mitchell

Madeline Mitchell is Miss Alabama who was recently reunited on GMA with truck driver Gary Lewellen, who saved her life from a terrible car crash. She recovered and never gave up her dream, going on to become Miss Alabama and nearly Miss USA after finishing third this year in the Miss USA pageant.

9. Carol Vorderman

This is one of the most fun entries I have ever posted, as The Butt – literally the buttbootiederrier – of popular and comical TV personality Carol Vorderman from Britain is gaining her tons of attention after beating out Pippa Middleton for the Rear of the Year Award in the UK. Congrats Carol, to you and your butt.

10. Victoria Justice

Maybe another rival to unseat Bieber? Victoria Justice is the young actress, singer, songwriter and star of Nickelodeon’s “Victorious” and “Zoey 101“, along with many more TV shows and films, and she is on the rise and maybe she can topple Bieber, the kid with the three dollar Supercuts haircut.
This was a fun month of searches with some great people, including Carol Vorderman’s butt. If Carol Vorderman’s bootie can make it on the list this month, I can’t wait to see who (or what!?) makes it onto next month’s list! And isn’t it funny that after all the trouble and attention for Anthony Weiner, that he doesn’t even make our list, but the porn star he got into trouble for sending text messages to does!

PICASSO IN RAMALLAH

A daring loan premised on the faith that the paintbrush is mightier than the M16 ...
From THE ECONOMIST online
"Painting is not made to decorate houses," Pablo Picasso wrote. "It is an instrument of offensive and defensive war against the enemy." It was this side of the master painter—also known for his womanizing and eccentricity—that was unveiled in the West Bank on Friday. Dozens of Palestinians and international guests, many dressed in jeans, came to a Palestinian art school to welcome the “Buste de Femme”, a Cubist rendition of a woman painted in 1943, the same year Picasso penned those provocative words.
The canvas, valued at £4.5m, had made its way to the town of Ramallah after two years of planning between the small International Academy of Art Palestine and the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. The loan involved some daunting hurdles, such as finding an insurer for the travelling masterpiece, building a climate-controlled room for its display and impossible Israeli customs fees (ultimately waived). By late June there was only the matter of entering Ramallah, which required travelling the treacherous several kilometres that lay between the last Israeli checkpoint and the first Palestinian security posting. Knowing that the painting would be vulnerable to thieves in this no-man’s land, academy officials asked journalists to accompany the painting, hoping cameras would deter any ambush.
What did Picasso say, if anything, about the creation of Israel in 1948? This was a question asked by a member of the audience at the painting’s unveiling. In reply, the academy’s art director, Khaled Hourani, said that extensive research on the subject had yielded nothing. Picasso’s views on the region remain a mystery.
But Charles Esche, director of the Van Abbemuseum, said Picasso would have been delighted that his work was being shown to Palestinians. “In our museum, we say that art is a way to imagine the world otherwise,” he told the group. “Politics is about what already is, not what can be.” Scathing towards what he called the Dutch government’s “neoliberal nonsense”, Mr Esche spoke of demonstrations underway in the Arab world as paving the way towards change in Europe. “One of our challenges as a museum is how to pass on modernity to the new generation.” By “modernity”, he explained that he meant “equality”.
Salam Fayyad, the Palestinian prime minister, enjoyed a grand entrance, with drums pounding and men wielding ceremonial swords and flames. Yet an uneasy murmur ran through the crowd. One man began to chant, softly, wryly, the slogan that has brought down Arab leaders this year: “The people demand…”
Faced with a dead peace process with Israel, Palestinians say they plan to seek statehood from the United Nations in the fall. Mr Fayyad is internationally credited with building the institutions and western relationships needed for this. At ease and casually dressed, he stayed on message. This groundbreaking showing of a world masterpiece was a sign of Palestinian readiness, Mr Fayyad said.
Once the crowds had left, a few police carrying semi-automatic weapons awkwardly shuffled around the courtyard. The Picasso canvas hung alone in a softly-lit room. Its background is painted in olive tones, with angular lines cutting through it. Angry green brush strokes are scrubbed to the left of a woman’s geometrical face, her mouth twisting sharply to the side. Its Cubist style is apparent; perspectives of the subject are broken up and then refitted together to enforce the painter’s vision. One 25-year-old Palestinian woman called the painting “violent”, even as she praised it for its fresh way of seeing.
