"To Let" winner of Best Indian Language film at the 2017 Kolkata International Film Festival

The poignant Tamil drama “TO LET” was selected as the winner of Best Indian Language film at the 2017 Kolkata International Film Festival. The film, directed by popular cinematographer and writer, Mr. Chezhiyan Ra, had its world premiere at the festival on November 14, where it played to a full house and received a standing ovation. The moving drama, set during the IT company boom of 2007, tells the story of an innocent family who is forced to vacate their home of 5 years almost immediately and find themselves in a mad dash to obtain a new rental somewhere in the busy hustle of Chennai.
The film also features editing by the legendary Sreekar Prasad. To Let was one of only a dozen Indian features chosen in competition as part of the 23rd annual festival which features an elite selection of films from around the world. The “Competition on Indian Language Films” category was introduced this year “to encourage new ideas and new concepts to pioneer a change in the realm of cinema”. To Let will be continuing its festival travels to other prestigious showcases around the world.
