Alfisti, rejoice! After a 20-year absence Alfa Romeo has finally
returned to American soil in the form of the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C, a
two-seat sport coupe that packs a 237-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder
engine into a carbon–fiber body stretched over a dynamic twin-clutch
transmission. It’s a system sure to drive like a rocket ship because the
car weighs about 2,200 pounds.
Indeed, even the floor of the 4C is made of ultra light carbon fiber, and it comes with a clean, no-nonsense dashboard and control panel (cruise control, hi-fi sound and rear-park assist are optional). Brembo brakes and Pirelli tires add to the name-brand allure. And the mid–engine rear-wheel drive will hit 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 160.
