Meditation for Beginners

Getting started with meditation doesn’t require anything fancy—just a few minutes, a quiet spot, and a bit of patience. Here’s a simple, practical way to begin:

🧘 Basic Meditation for Beginners

8

1. Find a comfortable position

Sit on a chair or the floor. Keep your back straight but not stiff. You can rest your hands on your lap.

2. Focus on your breath

Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Pay attention to your breathing—notice the air going in and out. No need to change it.

3. Expect your mind to wander

It will. That’s normal. When you notice it drifting, gently bring your focus back to your breath. No frustration needed.

4. Start small

Try 5 minutes a day. Consistency matters more than length.

5. End slowly

After your time is up, open your eyes gradually and take a moment before getting up.

🧠 What’s actually happening?

Meditation trains your attention. Over time, it can help reduce stress, improve focus, and make you more aware of your thoughts instead of getting carried away by them.
