The Most Evil Men In History - Idi Amin

In 1971, General Idi Amin overthrew the elected government of Milton Obote and declared himself president of Uganda, launching a ruthless eight-year regime in which an estimated 300,000 civilians were massacred. His expulsion of all Indian and Pakistani citizens in 1972—along with increasing military expenditures—brought about the country’s economic decline, the impact of which lasted decades. In 1979 his reign of terror came to an end as Ugandan exiles and Tanzanians took control of the capital of Kampala, forcing Amin to flee. Never brought to justice for his heinous crimes, Amin lived out the remainder of his life in Saudi Arabia.

Cannibalism is the act or practice of humans eating the flesh or internal organs of other human beings. A person who practices cannibalism is called a cannibal.

Cannibalism was practised among prehistoric human beings, and it lingered into the 19th century in some isolated South Pacific cultures, notably in Fiji. But today the Korowai are among the very few tribes believed to eat human flesh. They live about 100 miles inland from the Arafura Sea, which is where Michael Rockefeller, a son of then-New York governor Nelson Rockefeller, disappeared in 1961 while collecting artefacts from another Papuan tribe; his body was never found. Most Korowai still live with little knowledge of the world beyond their homelands and frequently feud with one another. Some are said to kill and eat male witches they call khakhua.
The island of New Guinea, the second-largest in the world after Greenland, is a mountainous, sparsely populated tropical landmass divided between two countries: the independent nation of Papua New Guinea in the east, and the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Irian Jaya in the west. The Korowai live in southeastern Papua.

What DO You Know About Kaizen Budgeting?

Do you know the name of the budgetary plan which is used normally in a successful retail outlet industry? If your response is WalMart, then you thought accurately. WalMart makes use of Kaizen budgeting to bring down its expenses and to maximize its earnings. The Kaizen budgetingprocess helps Wal-Mart to reduce itsoverhead by maximizing its efficiency and work flow. This is a consequence of steady improvement of their process and work. Wal-Mart is a good example for Kaizen budgeting accounting. There are also a couple of points against it, but in comparison to others, it is a gem of a approach. This helps to increase the productiveness as well as efficiency of employees and the organization.
"Kaizen" is a term in Japanese meaning "continuous improvement." In the business world the term frequently refers to making small improvements in throughout the organization. Improvements accumulate little by little to make a huge difference. Business, marketing, manufacturing - every part of the company should constantly be seeking ways to improve their work and processes so that they are easier, more profitable, and more efficient. Doing this results in increased revenue and decreased costs, while providing the company the edge on competing companies.
Whilst the concept of Kaizen is very good, the company cannot simply rely on an idea as a driving force. In such a situation, the Kaizen budgeting approach comes into play as a budgetary paradigm to drive the company forward by determining improvement. Kaizen budgeting accounting works by assuming that improvements will bemade and thus more funds are allocated earlier. Consequently, the implemented improvements increase efficiency later, meaning the requisite level of funding will be reduced later on, and therefore less money will be allocated to the last period. Allocating less money to the current month also ensures improvements are made or the department’s budget will be exceeded.
All people working for a Kaizen business should have the ability to think differently and look to achieve their objective. The entire team will find it very easy to progress and learn new things as they start making improvements in their lifestyles to suit their and the company's requirements in terms of efficiency and total output. This management process is very similar to that of a growing muscle which cuts fat the more there is. Workers, like muscles, must also be very well maintained and nurtured for the company to progress fast or else it may stop progressing.
The Kaizen benefits include a fund used to reward employees who make significant contributions to the workplace. The fund has the dual purpose of motivating employees to come up with ideas, and helping to identify those employees to are not contributing effectively. The overall effect is to make the company healthier, stronger, and more profitable and efficient.
A big or small business can benefit by using this solid business tool that is the revolutionary technique of innovation. A great example is there in Japan, we can look its successful business sector or at the ever-expanding Wal-Mart Corporation. They increase their profit margins and efficiency, reduce their expenditures and waste, they aremotivated and stimulated workers, and they strengthen the company by employing it with their patience, attentiveness, creative spirit etc. It shows a jewel of a strategy and it is not to be missed.

Threat of divine punishment makes people more generous

By Lizzie WadeFeb. 10, 2016 , 1:00 PM
If you came into some unexpected cash, would you keep the money for yourself or give it away to a faraway stranger? According to a new study, the answer may depend on what kind of god you believe in. Moralizing gods, which care about human behavior and punish transgressions, feature in religions from Christianity and Islam to the polytheism of ancient Egypt (pictured). One idea—popularly known as the Big Gods hypothesis—holds that such gods may make people more cooperative and could have helped societies grow from hunter-gatherer bands to politically complex states. To test the idea that moralizing gods foster group-oriented generosity, even across long distances, researchers asked 591 people, from hunter-gatherers in Tanzania to wage workers in Brazil, to play an economic game. Participants were given some money and asked to roll a die. If a certain color came up, they were supposed to drop some coins in their own pot; another color and they were supposed to put the money in a pot destined for a stranger in another community who shared their religion. In another round, the recipients were either members of their own community or strangers in a distant one, all of whom shared the player’s religion. No one was watching the game, and the researchers expected a certain amount of cheating. When the scientists tallied up the coins in each pot, they found that in both rounds people who believed in more punishing gods gave more money to distant strangers, they report today in Nature. Intriguingly, belief in a god’s propensity to reward good behavior did not increase generosity in the same way, suggesting supernatural retribution may have been a key element in encouraging cooperation and helping societies expand.":

ABORIGINAL ARTS

Religious and ceremonial aspects of life, being so important, are the inspiration for much art. Aboriginal art and decoration is an integral part of traditional life, and occurs as body decoration in ceremonies, on bark shelter and rock shelter walls, on trees (dendroglyphs), carved on rocks (petroglyphs), weapons, utensils, and sacred objected both natural and carved.
There is an enormous variety in the styles of Aboriginal art, with both regional variations and a time depth, where for each region, the styles have varied as one goes back in time. For example, studies of Kimberley (north Western Australia) and Kakadu (in the Northern Territory) rock art show many evolving styles dating back tens of thousands of years.
Much of the painted and carved art can be divided simply into two broad categories or styles – naturalistic or figurative and non-naturalistic or non-figurative. However, Aboriginal art is much more complex than this and includes stencils, thread-cross strings on poles, free standing carvings and objects including beeswax models, charcoal drawings, drawings and raised designs in sand, the application of feathers and feather down, and so on.

naturalistic style or figurative style means that any person looking at the art is able to recognise what basic subject is being depicted. It looks basically natural or is a figure of the intended subject. Of course, a macropod figure might represent a large kangaroo or a small wallaby, but the basic figure is recognisable. Within the grouping of “naturalistic figures” comes many further subdivisions, based on the subtle differences of the countless styles an artist might use. Both researchers and Aborigines might then name those further subdivisions for their particular locality, based on a dominant feature of that particular art style. For example, in the Kimberley, the “Wandjina Art Period” describes paintings done in the recent period when Wandjina(the important Ancestral Being) paintings were made, in a particular multicoloured, crudely naturalistic, style.
Some of the most beautiful Australian Aboriginal art using a naturalistic art style is found in the rock art across northern Australia, the best-known regions being the Kimberley and Kakadu regions. One form of this style is where the internal anatomy of an animal is also shown in the painting, and hence this is called “X-ray” art. This feature appears occasionally in the very old art of both the Kakadu and Kimberley regions, but really took off in the art of the Kakadu region over the past thousand years or so. This X-ray style continues today with the commercial art produced on barks and paper for the tourist market by Aboriginal people from that region.

Non-naturalistic or non-figurative styles include abstract styles and geometric patterns, the most common being those seen in the art of Central Australia. Here, for example, the arc shape might represent a man or woman sitting at their campfire, or it may represent a boomerang. A circle might represent any important person or place, or even represent the story of important event that took place.
The accompanying photo is a section of a large painting by Reggie Sultan, a Kaytja Aboriginal artist from Barrow Creek, showing people, animal tracks, and water holes. The arc shapes with lines to the side represent seated women and their digging sticks. The line of “arrows” along the top and right represent the tracks of the emu, a large Australian bird, travelling from left to right across the top and from top to bottom along the right side. The “half-arrows” at the far right represent the tracks of a kangaroo passing from the top to the bottom of the painting.

The extra line behind one set of tracks at the top right represents the mark of the kangaroo’s tail when it paused for a moment, allowing the tail to touch the ground. This art style is typical of Central Australian art. (Reggie’s paintings can be purchased from this Web site.)
Now that the collecting of pieces of Aboriginal art has become so popular world-wide, a common, mistaken belief is that the Dot Painting Style of Central Australia is a recent development. This belief arises because it was in the 1960s that a Central Australian school teacher encouraged the old men of the tribe to record their art on European sheets of board, using acrylic paints. This use of acrylic paints on flat board dates from that time. However, the art style itself, with geometric designs, is seen in the petroglyphs (rock engravings) dating back thousands of years.

The use of dots was once Australia-wide, particularly seen on body decoration when people are painted for ceremonies, and I have located paintings in the remote Kimberley region where dots are clearly seen on the body decoration of some of the earliest human figures, likely to be older than 20,000 years. (See accompanying photo.)
