Day by day the situation is not healthy with respect to COVID 19 and we need to take all possible ways to prevent and counter the prevailing health risk. In this contest, National universities can play a vital role as that's the best place, which is with the knowledge, manpower, infrastructure and instruments, which are again brought down by the public funds. As state Universities, we have much more responsibility on our shoulders to safeguard our own community as well as to challenge the crisis situation worldwide.
I am writing this to inform you that Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) has strengthened the system to support any invention, which is directly related to Fight Against COVID 19.
This can be:
1. Just an idea
2. Concept
3. Prototype
4. Finish product
5. Design
Whichever the stage is, we/SLIC is going to support them in all possible ways to introduce this to the community, while ensuring the Intercultural Property of their product/concept.
We are there to support them on:
a. The patent documents
b. Finance them for testing (local/international)
c. Technical assistance
d. Provide financial assistance to buildup prototypes.
e. Provide grants/loans for start-ups
f. Support them to find out possible investors.
Hence, please be good enough to share this information among your staff (academic/non-academic) and students (undergraduate/postgraduate) and support this effort against COVID 19.
