Fruits and vegetables are known to posses a lot of antioxidants and anti-aging miracles. But if they are loaded with the harmful chemicals, then are you heading for fitness or drowning in the pool of unhealthy body conditions??

In the present times, there is a big buzz about artificial ripening of foods, mainly fruits and vegetables. Actually ripe foods are not easy to carry and they get rotten soon. So the traders use chemicals to ripen them, just to increase their appearance and shelf life. They inject these chemicals into fruits and veggies which increases their size overnight and also, artificial coloring is injected to them to make them appear juicy and fresh. All this is done just to increase their instant sales.

But, this process is associated with lots of health hazards. For example, Ethylene, Bethylene and Ethephon are some of the chemicals that are used for this purpose. They give rise to many health disorders. It mainly includes damage to the neurological system, eyes, skin, lungs, memory and prolonged hypoxia (a condition in which lack of oxygen supply occurs). Besides this practice, the farmers also use pesticides to grow food crops. They prove to be detrimental for your health.

For preventing these side effects, dip fruits and vegetables in a sink full of water. Add salt and lemon juice to it. Let the foods float for around 5-7 minutes and then wash them with plain water and then use them. You should also avoid plastic-looking foods. Choose only normal-sized foods that have a natural and real appearance.
